Download for version 1.11

In vanilla BtS, each leader has three versions of their diplomacy music: an early version for the Ancient and Classical eras, a middle version for the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, and a late version for the Industrial and Modern eras. However, in DoC, where many leaders, and indeed many civs, only appear for one or two eras, this means you often hear only a single version of a certain track. And in many cases, it's the very basic early version.

This is what this mod aims to improve: Instead of having every civ's diplo music change at the Middle ages and the Industrial age, the music tends to switch within the period the civ is alive. Many ancient civs, for example, have the middle or late version of their music moved forward all the way to the classical era. Maria's broken diplo music has also been fixed.

Four entirely new tracks have also been added: Francis now has Richard Straus' Emperor Waltz; the Spanish leaders have the Spanish King's diplo music from Colonization in the Middle Ages and Renaissance (always thought the flamenco just didn't quite fit pre-Industrial Spain); Stalin has an instrumental version of the Soviet Union's national anthem; and Gustav Adolph has an oboe concert by Johan Helmich Roman.

Now updated to version 1.11.

To install: Unzip and put into your Mods/RFC Dawn of Civilization folder.

As long as Leoreth doesn't update these files, nothing will happen to it. The moment he does, the mod is gone (at which point I'll remerge it and bring out a new version).

This is not completely true. Only if Leoreth changes the same lines as you did, it will get corrupted. But if Leoreth changes the same file, but a totally different part of it, both files will merge. Leaving you with the DoC update and this modmod upgrade still active. Works for my 2nd UU modcomp.

As the sound files aren't changed very often, I expect that it will only get corrupt a very few times. (If it happens at all)

Fun fact: the Syrtaki was created by Hollywood movie writers.

Huh, that is a fun fact. I suppose I'd better find something more approppriate, then.

I think the Greeks have since embraced it, so it's not all that problematic.

Warning to those who have this modmod installed: the latest SVN update breaks the game. However, since Leoreth has said he'll release 1.11 tomorrow, there is not much point to me updating it right now to make it work. I'll make a new version when the official update is released.
