Well there are rather specific reasons for that as par the Alternative timeline, if you have a problem take it up with das .

tl;dr version: The White Malay's are the last reminants and concentration of the old iberian trading network and thus have a technological legacy as an advantage over the more native states, and the hostilities between you and them have prevented technological diffusion, added to the fact that the Sultanate of mataram hadn't been around for very long. On the other hand my technological ages are shorter than das's, and catchup is always easier than innovation.
