djb5 - "The Power of the G5"

:D

:D
this is one of the best civ games i've ever played (in terms of multi-player and also in terms of how much ass we are kicking of the computer's) <--see, how's that for English Grammar! (haha, if you ever have any complaints about my grammar, please send hate-mail to Crown Valley Elementary School, Mission Viejo, CA...yeah)
:D

1455 AD ->
1460 AD ->
1465 AD -> Researched Democracy, set to Medicine; lost the Gem trade.
1470 AD ->
1475 AD ->
1480 AD ->
1485 AD ->
1490 AD ->
1495 AD -> Researched Medicine, set to Electricity.
1500 AD -> Renewed deal for Roman ivory in exchange for Grecian Wines & 125 gold.
1505 AD ->
1510 AD ->
1515 AD ->
1520 AD ->
1525 AD -> Athens b Smith's Trading Co., set to factory :); ENG b Newton's University. :(
1530 AD -> Researched Electricity, set to Scientific Method; rush factory in Athens.
1535 AD ->
1540 AD -> Lost 2 luxury deals; traded medicine to India for Silks, Furs, wm, 59gpt, & 140 gold and to England for wm, 49 gpt, & 20 gold.
1545 AD ->
1500 AD -> researched Scientific Method, set to Replaceable Parts.

wonder_cities.jpg

Observations: Moving right along, Lysander! Athens is building the ToE (must have) and Thermopylae is 5 turns from Magellan's. Make sure once we gain Replaceable Parts, drop the sliders to 9-0-1, so we can rake in the gpt until the ToE is complete. I recommend getting the next two techs following Scientifi Method as our free ones, so we can build the Hoover Dam as well. Plus, their great trade bait, very pricey. ;) I didn't pay to much attention to our army, but w/ RR, we ought to be fine v. England.

1655 AD -> IBT - England b Shakespeare's Theatre.

1660 AD -> Switched Athens from Shakespeare's to Hoover Dam; IBT - Rome attempted to extort Replaceable Parts; denied = no consequences.

1665 AD -> Researched Espionage, set to Radio.

1670 AD ->
1675 AD ->
1680 AD -> IBT - England & India sign MPP.

1685 AD ->
1690 AD ->
1695 AD ->
1700 AD ->
1705 AD -> Amiens b Iron Works; trade Atomic Theory to India for Furs, Refining, wm, 93gpt, & 270 gold, to England for 81gpt & 100 gold, and to Rome for 23gpt.

1710 AD ->
1715 AD ->
1720 AD ->
1725 AD ->
1730 AD -> Sparta b Universal Suffrage.

1735 AD -> Delphi b Battlefield Medicine; IBT - India & France sign MPP.

1740 AD ->
1745 AD -> Athens b Hoover Dam.

1750 AD ->Researched Combustion, set to Mass Production (4 turns).

Observations: Intelligence Agency will be built in 2 turns, go easy w/ planting spies. Because, we've got some sweet gpt deals that are allowing us to research techs quickly. Enjoy.

wow, as always, great job

i will get to the game as soon as humanely possible...then again, C3C comes out tomorrow...we'll see ;)

i won't plant spies since i only do this when in communism and even then it's risky...will only do it in the event of having to wipe out England...

well, wish me luck and thanks :)

Kewl, here's the info:
(turns that contain no info are assumed to be unit production and/or infrastructure production)

1750 Start Turn
1752 Wall Street Built +50 more gold per turn :)
1754
1756
1758 Discovered Mass Production, Motorized Transportation in 4 turns
1760
1762 Rome declared war on the Indians, everyone except the Greek Empire declares war on Rome... (aside: maybe this is the ripe time to invade Britain while it's using it's resources to battle Rome)
1764
1766 Told England to remove their units from our territory, they complied. Traded Saltpeter to England for WM and 510 Gold.. (aside: don't understand why none of England's cities have not fallen to our superior culture)
1768
1770
1772 Traded Mass Production to Rome for Gems, Dyes, WM, and 50 gold; Traded Mass Production to India for Silks, Furs, 6 gold/turn, and 160 gold; Traded Mass Production to England for 9 gold/turn and 580 gold.
1774
1776 Declared War on England, funny how it coincides with American independence! :D India declares war on us because of stupid MPP :~(
Captured Liverpool, hope you like the Beatles, dojoboy :)
1778 France declares war on us because of MPP...geez, their one island city we'll sure put up a hefty defense...haha!
1780
1782
1784
1786
1788 Fission Discovered. Nuklear Weapons are fun. United Nations started construction in Athens (18turns)
1790 End turn, Game saved

Please burn Canterbury to the ground...that city has given the greeks a lot of ****...

Huh? What happened here? Elizabeth insult your sensibilities or something? :lol:

well, basically yeah...I always go after england...they always seem to be arrogant... :)

also, it was a time of oppurtunity since england had just committed war resources to fight Rome :)

Preturn -> Took control of Athen's city governor to increase production v. growth = UN.

1792 AD -> Combat v. England continues.

1794 AD -> Poitiers (Fr.) captured.

1796 AD -> Captured Canterbury (Eng.).

1798 AD ->
1800 AD ->
1802 AD ->
1804 AD -> Lysander the Great produces Great Leader in battle w/ English.

1806 AD -> IBT -> GL's transport lost at sea, wounded battleship escort sunk by multiple English Man-o-Wars. Greek nation in mourning.

1808 AD -> Researched Computers, set to Space Flight; upgrade 44 infantry men to Mechanized Infantry.

1810 AD -> Gave India wm & 60 gold for peace treaty, interested in making India a trading partner at this point; trade India wines & spices for furs; signed peace treaty w/ France for RoP, 38 gold & wm; war effort v. England continues unabated. IBT -> lost Canterbury during English counter-attack.

1812 AD -> Trade Radio to Rome for dyes, ivory, wm 20 gold, & Amphibious Warfare.; captured Nottingham (Eng.); IBT -> lost Nottingham during English counter-attack.

1814 AD -> Recaptured Canterbury & Nottingham; traded Flight to Rome for gems, wm, 30gpt, & 30 gold; IBT -> India & Rome sign peace treaty.

1816 AD -> Lysander, II produces GL in defense of Nottingham; bribed France into alliance v. England for Magnetism; bribed India into alliance v. England for Fission (we receive silks also in the deal); England no longer has trading partners, which is good because I believe Elizabeth was getting oil from India - English tanks were harrassing; IBT -> Lysander, II killed in battle, Greek nation again mourns the loss of a great hero. :(

1818 AD -> Captured New Lahore from England (on Roman & Indian continent); captured Coventry w/ newly formed army; IBT -> France & Rome sign peace treaty.

1820 AD ->
1822 AD ->
1824 AD ->
1826 AD -> Captured Oxford (Eng.) & Warwick (Eng.).

1828 AD -> Athens b United Nations (no election held); Corinth b Heroic Epic.

1830 AD -> London is now completely disconnected from her provincial cities, Operation Anaconda a success.

Observations: War continues v. England as English citizenry rebel in protest to it's military's ineptness and it's government's leadership; pollution was a major problem during my turns. I took over most workers and ordered them to clean pollution as their first priority; current rival governments: France (Republic), England (Communism), India (Communism), & Rome (Monarchy); Athens is 7 turns from completing Military Academy; Argos is 7 turns from completing Apollo Program; Mycenae is 19 turns from completing SETI; traded uranium to India on my last turn for 57gpt, wm, & 360 gold, which was bizzare becasue Space Flight is not yet researched and the Manhattan Project is not yet built.

I'm in no hurry. Space race? We can try to resource deny India and Rome if they ever get Apollo built. May have to execute a small scale ground war to capture any aluminum they might be accumulating. And, remember, its unsafe to allow rogue nations free access to uranium! ;) Planting spies will be a must.

ok, should i switch to communism so I can't plant spies...I don't know how effective they will be and if it's worth to switch...i think I'll stick with republic

here we go (IU = infrastructure and Unit production)

1830: Start
1832: IU, India starts Manhattan Project, Bombarded the hell out of London...thanks for all the Artillery Dojoboy! :)

1846: London Captured, as well as Hanging Gardens, Sistine Chapel, and Shakespeare's Theatre
1848: IU
1850: IU
1852: IU
1854: IU
1856: Peace declared with England, the People Rejoice
1858-1870: IU, discovery of Eclology, now there is only one turn left till Synthetic Fibers...my suggestion is to used MA to finally wipe out the English

anyways dojoboy...I'm going to let you finish the rest of the game...I'm sure you can do a diplo victory in 20 turns but you can talk as long as you want...

it has been very enjoyable playing with you but I have to say that I think I will be taking a sabbatical from Civ3 and other video games to concentrate on things that have been neglected... keep on civving :

All done, BB! We win by space race in 1914 to the dismay of our lesser opponents. Our title is Alexander the Clever. Score not terribly high at all, but that wasn't the point. Enjoyed it. Hope your studies are wrapping up for the holiday season.
