DLCs once again not included in Steam sale

This is a discussion about relations of different offers :

Civ 6 Deluxe = Base Game + 20 Civs + 7 Civs (DLC) = 40 $ (on sale)
6 DLCs = 7 Civs (DLC) = 38 $ (no sale)

If you buy the Deluxe on sale, you pay about 1 $ per civ. If you already have bought the standard version, you have to pay about 5 $ per DLC-civ.

Irrelevant. Firaxis has every right to bundle and price as they see fit. It's fairly universally true that things sold separately come out to be more expensive than things that are bundled together, and in this case Firaxis has chosen - for now at least - to use the deluxe edition as their bundle. If you didn't buy it, I understand and sympathize but Firaxis does not owe you anything different.

It's almost inevitable that a more comprehensive bundle will eventually come. If you feel this strongly over buying $5 or $10 DLC then you'll just have to wait until that time. And what's the big deal with waiting? Civ 6 is a complete and enjoyable product as-is.

As a customer I have every right to be disappointed that Firaxis does not offer a Season Pass for players who bought / preordered the standard edition of Civ 6 in 2016.

(By the way, I have a complete collection of Civ 6 incl. DLCs and R&F., so it is a general discussion ...)

Firaxis doesn't have to do anything but people have every right to criticise the offer/pricing structure. I took particular exception to a user claiming they were not punishing early adopters, because insofar as early adopters can be "punished", it's pretty much false.

I didn't buy it because I didn't know what DLC were going to be included, and I figured just 4 DLC wasn't worth the 20$ extra it was going to be. Had I known it was going to be 6 DLC, mostly civs including some double packs, then I would have bought it.

I don't buy stuff I don't know what is. The deluxe wasn't even supposed to include the indonesia/khmer pack, but they included it anyway because people who bought deluxe was so mad about the content they got (just look at steam reviews)

No, it wasn't about the satisfaction of customers re the early DLC (though the Viking one certainly had separate issues there); it was about changes in international exchange rates between the times of the purchase and the times of DLC release. i.e. Not Firaxis's fault in any way shape or form. It's nice they cared enough about their fans to give them extra back (that should dominate this discussion! Not the other stuff) but they would have been within their rights to stand their ground. What if it had happened the other way around and fans in those markets had paid when the game was cheaper -with it rising in cost later- and hence got an even better deal? Would any of them likely offered to pay more to Firaxis!?

But if you want the DLC and finances are not an issue, Firaxis has no responsibility to set their prices based on your arbitrary perception of the DLCs' value.

To be quite frank it's ridiculous that so many people here somehow think that Firaxis owes them a sale on DLC. They don't.

:stupid:
I guess Firaxis deserves some of this feedback after making a game in which communism is seen to be just a different equal to democracy ;)
