DMI X - A noble way to Deity

We should make use of our spiritual trait. If we are entering builder's mode, revolt. If we are building military, revolt. That was exactly what I did in my quiet turnset. I first revolted to OR:

And spam missionaries so that all our cities are Jewish. Military builds were also suspended with 1 turn to completion, awaiting our revolt back to theocracy. I have also added to our empire a couple of workers.

Some dude tell us we are only number two powerful:

Obviously flawed :p

Once we are ready to go back into build up mode, I revolted again:

And completed all the backfill of military mode.

Here is the tech situation:

We do not have paper, so likely all the civs has already had Education and beyond.

I have upgraded a few grenies while at my last turn. We could attack Holland now, or wait til we'd gotten steel. Alternatively, we can attack Asoka and completely annexes India ... then it will only be a matter of time for us to grow beyond the deities.

Seems fine :) . How far away is Steel ? Cannons are great, so if we can afford the delay and still attack in reasonable time, I think we should go for it...

Roster duty:

1. Imhotep
2. dazedroyalty >> on permaskip until 27th of July
3. GreyFox >> JUST PLAYED
4. Strauss >> UP NOW
5. r_rolo1 >> ON DECK

6. MyOtherCar >> on permaskip for 2 weeks

Before I play, I'd like to hear some feedback if we should attack Holland or India, and if we should wait for Steel to do it? Having been out of the flow of the game for some time makes me feel uncomfortable making this decision by myself.

I think the idea was to keep pushing against Willem, but Asoka might be good too. I can't look at the save right now to see.

Well, if we go for Asoka he may vassalize to Williy anyway :D , so no real difference. But easing the culture war with India by capturing a few cities would certainly help...

 When I load the save, it shows the intro screens and then fades to black and doesn't load the game.... any idea what it could be?

lurker's comment: Have you tried downloading the game a second time?
I've had a few bizzare things that turned out to be a corrupted download.

LOL I just realized I didn't patch up before I left. I'm downloading the patch, but my internet's going really slow right now so this will take some time. Updates (hopefully from the game) in a few hours.

First off, this guy crossed the seas to say hello:

Unfortunately he has a bit of an attitude:

I called his bluff and refused and he backed down, for now.

I declared war on India in 1765, and after a terrible siege and subsequent battle Delhi was taken in 1790.

1 turn later:

With the Industrial Age come the Cannons. I set research to 0% (Paper still due in 5) to accumulate some cash for upgrades. Most of our existing Trebuchets were destroyed at Delhi, but most of our cities can pump out Cannons and Grenadiers in 2-3 turns. Obviously, once Asoka is effectively neutralized, new troops should be sent north to the Dutch border. Willem has started to run away on the power graph, but upgrading to Cannons should keep us on track.

A Great General was born on my last turn, I have saved him for my successor, as well as the Great Engineer in Madrid.

Nice warring there ... Delphi is great ... the shrine is going to bring us a whopping 32gpt (haven't add in the bank+market multiplier yet) ... but that is if it can stay out of revolt.

But the end turn wasn't, well, ended quite nicely. There is an Indian knight which could have been dispatched easily with a pike, our trebs are having goto, some will place them dangerous close to Indian border to be picked off by Asoka's knights unescorted.

One more comment is the super-elephant-medic should be pulled off to the India war front to help heal troops.

The great engineer has been there for ages ... chances are we won't have a wonder to rush ... I suggest either settling him or rush the Nat Epic. Yeah a waste, I know, but no more wasteful then him sitting there idling.

We should also revolt to mercantilism -- we have only open border with Hanny, which given his size, the foreign trade would be pitiful. A free specialist everywhere would be more helpful, especially since we are now effectively running representative SE.

I think Rolo is up.
