Looks like a good turnset ... although how one can "accidentally" build a monument eludes me
The barb city is 1 tile too north ... anyway, let's try to get a settler out after the pyramids to settle somewhere in between capitol and the barb city, then hopefully ion is within our city and go get a few axes to clear the barb.
Recent trend has been I am keeping SGs on their schedule
Not much to do but press enter and building a mine. When our warrior Avenger healed I sent him exploring a bit and found this (the fish).

Our neighbour wants to silence the lambs next to Madrid but wants to take a shortcut:

Hmm, no picture. Anyway Hannibal wants and gets open borders.

Next turn we welcome him amongst our Mids:

Set Madrid to a granary in time with growth but 3 turns later I find our stores empty? Does growth come before a build? I hope it wasn't because we were revolting:

Oh, we have Iron within our borders!

Barcelona could do with a (great) lighthouse, but I pick Monotheism over Sailing for now, we might still get a religion!
Sid tells me to build a settler (something with building more cities, but who cares?) but we're a wonderhappy bunch, right? I can't resist Stonehenge, which quite surprisingly needs stone to be build. Henge the name.

I can actually build it in 5T and plan to add a chop.
All in all we're just another brick in:
Spoiler:

Barcelona can't really grow, so it gets to build a settler (in 10). Workers will help with a chopped farm.
Ragnar comes a-knocking, he gets open borders too. Sure, come and admire our latest erection:

Finally we get a religion, I mean what is Spain without a religion? Btw I'm strongly in favor of Christianity (and AP) as well, since we laid the foundation
for it:

Open borders with Asoka? Sure why not?
I pick Priesthood as our next tech, for the Oracle and maybe a MC or CoL slingshot? I have Madrid building a couple of Swordsmen for the barb city up north (one is already finished). But could be changed to the Oracle. I'd say let the swordsman finish (in 2) Madrid will hit size 5 and then can build the Oracle in 9. I haven't switched to Judaism yet, since only Barcelona has it and is building a settler. There's one turn into sailing to help Barcelona grow (GL and Moai are there too!).
Civics. We're doing horribly for noble gameplay, but that can be changed quickly:

I think it has to with this, in case your wondering:
Spoiler:

Summary:
1 religion founded
3 stone wonders built;
1 swordsman,
1 granary,
2 chops
1 mine
some roads roaded
3 techs (IW, Mono, Priesthood) teched.
lurker's comment:
I'm just wondering why you built the great wall? i'm guessing the barbs won't be bothering you very much on noble. and later on in the game when you change to deity i guess you will have a military that could take care of them.
did you build it for the great spy points mainly or the fact that it was so cheap as you had stone hooked up?
This was a quiet turnset, although not without major events. I played 10 turns. The plan was to finish the Sword in Madrid and start on the Oracle then, while founding another city and raze down the barb one.
After Sailing came in I chose Mathematics. We want to pop MC with the Oracle, so no need to invest beakers into it.
Founded Seville. It will be a strong production site. Yet we should look for commerce sites now, unfortunately we have not that much grassland nearby.
One of the major events that set: First we get a lucky spread (Judaism to Madrid), then the Oracle falls. It turns out that Asoka got it because he adopted HR immediately. Asoka is putting up a strong show and expanding towards us, we'll have to deal with him in the future.
Our sword has no problems with the two barb warriors at all.
And I showed this guy the door.
Another settler is ready in 1, and I trained another worker - we need more. We should resettle the barb city 1S and then look for sites in the West, although that's somewhat difficult. I think we should get a Library in Madrid after the Axe and run two Scientists. Madrid will pop a GP in 6, chances are 56% for an Engineer (which I would save for the Great Library) and 43% for a Prophet (Temple of Solomon). I switched to Judaism as we are running OR anyway.

We can't declare war until after the switch to Deity, but we can get him before too much of a chance to build up.
For research, I've heard goals of Metal Casting, Christianity and Literature voiced. Anyone have strong feelings? Somewhere in here we will need Code of Laws/Currency as well to continue expanding.
Computers would be fine... the internet would come handy
Seriously, I've no strong feeling about any tech so far: forges would be good, the AP as well, as well as TGL. But we clearly need Currency or CoL ( I prefer currency ) before the Deity switch....
Welcome back ... Glad to know that you are recovering well.
Abt the game:
Too bad abt the Oracle ... but we really didn't have the chance since we are not industrious and without marble.
I personally prefer the plan of going towards Literature for TGL. This is highly synergetic with the Pyramids.
Re: Future war with Asoka: he will ascend to Deity status in 30 turns, and enjoy 40 turns of peace afterwhich. We have 70 turns to build ourselves an unstoppable army
(Inherited) I look around to see what it up. I would probably have placed Seville either 2N1W or 2S1E, as doing so would have allowed both those locations to be settled without overlap and maximizing land use. I look around for potential commerce city locations. There really isn't much. We could go over the hills towards Asoka by the river or we could go north and cut down jungle.
I micro Madrid to work a cottage instead of forest, bringing Math in one turn sooner and still completing the Axe in three turns.
I whip the settler in Barcelona to overflow into lighthouse and to make run at GLH.
(101) Livy tells us:
(103) Axe done in Madrid, start Library.
(104) Decide to whip Barcelona again because we are way under happy cap and will get significant overflow into the GLH.
(105) I settle Corboda. I decided to go north into the Jungle as it can be coastal benefiting from GLH, also it has bronze, rice and will get bananas and dye when the borders pop.
Also:
I select Aesthetics for next to head to Great Library
(IT)
Ragnar wants a break with Asoka? No problem. We never liked that guy anyways. Plus, we aren't planning on him being around for too long.
(106) Our Great Person turns out to be a prophet:
(107) Micro Barcelona to finish GLH in 8 turns by borrowing the cows from Madrid (did not affect build time there). Barcelona is currently maxing production which has it stagnant. I calculated that letting it grow then maxing would actually take longer to build the GLH (10 turns)
Anada goes to work:
(108) Madrid finished Library and starts Aqueduct. We have stone for the Hanging Gardens, we could complete them in 9 turns!
(109) Whip lighthouse in Seville set to granary.
Ragnar's gonna be a GNP monster if he cottages all of this:
In conclusion, I did nothing (not a single unit build) towards taking out Asoka. We have a new city that will eventually be able to run lots of cottages and built infrastructure. I guess I am more of a builder at heart than a war monger.
Greyfox can decide to continue in the wonder/infrastructure or switch to military to kill Asoka. Maybe military everywhere except the Hanging Gardens, which seem like a good choice because they are so quick to be built. I would have preferred the Great Engineer to speed the Great Library but the ToS will be helpful down the road.
