Something very strange:

I wonder what the greeks want with this fleet ,but it does not look like it has something to do with us..... barb hunt expedition?

Anyway the set ended with this:

The city that she's offering is that southern one.

I think that it is quite indiferent. We have the manpower to slash the girl down at leisure.... if we accept is to cut the recovery time.

Another issue is Monty. His cultural pressure is annoying and he's spamming settlers to try do fill the voids behind the front. Can we give him a proper beating, can we ? :p

But anyway the game is quite over......

Nice turns Rolo. Serves Boudi right. Although my first inclination would be to remove her from the game (I hardly ever make vassals), on second thought I believe we should vassalize her. After all: "Qui vincit non est victor nisi victus fatetur", right? It would also nicely balance out the three powers in the world, all with one vassal. That leaves Monty. He's an annoyance in our territory and should have been killed long ago, if it wasn't for the Celtic dow. We should be able to easily take him out with our current military.
After that, we should try to make this a more peaceful game, rebuild our economy, and cruise (?) to whatever victory type the team prefers. If that's allright with Lee, of course ;)
So I suggest to accept Boudica's capitulation, revolting to more peaceful civics, while taking out Monty. Are we sure though we want to accept SM as a tech yet? It obsoletes quite a few wonders, doesn't it?

r_rolo1 - I noticed that you are using the new graphic set by Chuggi - any issues with that? I was using it in the early game but the later game caused CTD.

To quote Atlas: "Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice." Vassalizing Boudica and smashing Monty seems like a modest plan. Motion carried :D . On a completely unrelated note somebody could translate that latin sentence for me. I goofed in school and took French :/ . As for the Victory Condition I'd like to go either UN or Space Race - though UN seems the quicker path.

I did too, but I eventually went back and now celebrate Vergil's birthday today!

It means literally, "He who wins is not the victor neither does he admit (or acknowledge) victory".

Good luck with your game!

BTW we have sci met to 1 turn. I wanted to leave the team with the option of getting it or not, so I switched research to democracy.

To ruff : I am not using chuggi's set ( unless he uses anhu water file too ;) )

@the King of Himself:

I wanted to ask you that question some time ago, but forgot it in the meantime. The nice ruffled water is not the default BlueMarble - where did you get that?

Thx, I found it myself using the name you gave in the post before mine. Long live the search function :D .

Edit: Just installed it. Looks reeeeally nice :) .

I've got this baby then.

Does Boudica have any other worthwhile cities? See if you can get them instead of SM + gold for peace.

more like "He, who wins, is not the victor unless the loser admits/acknowledges it." You cannot truly win, as long as your opponent doesn't accept his loss.

nice game, btw.

^^Pretty much my reading ( or reversing it, you are not defeated until you give up the fight :D ) ;) Or ,in another more loose variation " A victor is not one unless there is someone to acknowledge it", that I assume that is MOC reading :p

All of boudica cities except one are in the pic I showed ( she has one north of the pic that it is utter crap in that snowed island to the north that appears in the pic ). In fact, IMHO, the city that she's offering is the best that she has now.....

Yes that was how I interpreted it. It's been, of course, 24 years, since I last practiced my Latin in school. Besides reading english that is, which is full of Latin-derived words.

Ok, I took a look at the save. Some suggestions/questions.
Civics: I don't understand what we are doing in Bureaucracy/Free Market. Free Market only gives us 1 extra trade route, so 1-2g per city. We're better of with the free specialist in Mercantilism to which I switched in my set. You can see the difference in one my screenshots.
Also Bureaucracy nets us +50% hammers and gold, whereas Free Speech gives us +2g/town.
Thebes has 64g, which gives us 32g from Bureaucracy. But we have at nearly 40 towns which means +80g! And that is before multipliers. Makes up more than enough for the lost extra 20h.
Since we'll have democracy in 2, we can whip some infra for the last time and then change to Emancipation too.

Secondly, Boudica is willing to part with one more of her cities: I suggest taking Durnovaria as well, a holy city with fish and copper. I believe that you immediately gain control of all tiles from your vassal in the BFC of your own cities. So that would leave Boudi two crappy cities. Oh, and don't forget to rearrange our espionage points afterwards.

True about the civics ( I should had changed to merc even before we start the set before this one.... war can distract ppl a lot :p ). We're Spi anyway ;)

About the cities: if we can take 2 cities from Boudi the better.... and one thing: we do not take control of all the tiles of the BFC against a vassal culture :p we take the tiles that the city can work : if the city still is in the 1 st ring of our culture , we'll only get the 1st ring until the culture expands to the 2nd ring.

Not that it is a issue in here :p

@MOC: berserks has posted a got it. It looks like I am on deck.
