DMI XII - Imhotep's Legacy

Started off by taking a tour of our cities and MM to work whatever better tiles I can get, but not alot since we have plenty of  to go around.

Then vassalized Boudica with these bonuses

Which net us

Civ4ScreenShot0001-60.jpg

We were then praised as the largest civ

Civ4ScreenShot0002-58.jpg

And I remembered to switched to Free Speech and Mercantilsm, which turned our falling economy to a booming economy with +60 gpt :goodjob:

Democracy came in and I selected Communism next

Civ4ScreenShot0003-58.jpg

I was going to switch to Emancipation, but it's not needed anymore since we're not at war anymore. I also took another tour of our cities and assign all free specialists to scientists where available and rebuilt our economy while we're at it.

Alex got cocky

Civ4ScreenShot0004-51.jpg

He was promptly told to keep dreaming

Communism in, Combustion next

Civ4ScreenShot0005-45.jpg

Then Ghandi showed up being cocky

Civ4ScreenShot0006-34.jpg

He was also told to take a hike

The AP election rolled around and we voted to stop trading with the bald little guy. Here's the result

Civ4ScreenShot0007-28.jpg

Yeah!!! That's for demanding tech from us, punk!!

Combustion in, Physics next

Civ4ScreenShot0008-25.jpg

Our pet came with a request

Civ4ScreenShot0009-19.jpg

I thought about it for a bit and gave it to her. No harm done.

Physics in, and I slotted Artillery next

I leave my set with a nice little suprise for y'all

:D

We can and should switch to State Property, which I forgot to do when Communism came in.

During my set, I realized that Monte is not our vassal which is a pain since he separate us from a couple of our cities and all his cities under our command kept asking to go back to him. He also caused Isca to revert back to him. My suggestion on him is to wipe him out. He's really weak and backward, and we should do it while he hasn't vassalize to anyone yet.

We also have to make a decision: target either Alex or Gandhi while they're warring against each other for a domination win, or let them tear each other apart while we go to space. But, it looks like a fairly straight forward game after that.

Nice set (edited for reasons of stupidity: rolo) ....1  (especially in the pics of Boudica ;) ).
Imo we should take out the full Monty, he's a thorn in our Egyptian backside. And we run the risk of him vassalizing to Alex, which in turn would have a negative effect on our relations with the Greek. And that would hinder us in pursuing our this peaceful builders game. :P
Which wouldn't matter if we choose the domination route to victory. And of course domination would call for the annihilation of Monty. So it all (doesn't) depend on which victory we pursue.

got it. I'll get rid of Monty forthwith. (tomorrow :p)

any comments on space/dom?

ATM both are attainable for us, it just came down to how quickly do we want to win ;)

I vote for space. However, I still vote to use one of our war declarations to wipe Monty. That city was a royal pain during my turnset...

@Lee:

Motion carried :D . Let's go for space and trash Monty :) .

:bump: :)

Inherited turn:

Switched research to Corporation. I know it is a known tech, but no one will trade it to us because it unlocks so many wonders. We don't need artillery any time soon, so I head for Assembly Line.

1886:

DoW Monty. Move about a gazillion Cavalry into his territory.

1888:

Revolt to Emancipation/State Property. Should have done this 2 turns ago.
Open Borders with Gandhi for the trade routes.

1890:

Texcoco is captured for the loss of one Cavalryman.

Isca is razed for no loss.

1892:

Bibracte and Vienne have Celtic revolts. Once the Aztec War is over I'll move some military over there.

Chalon is captured without loss.

1898:

Alex/Shaka are making progress against Gandhi. Two Indian cities are captured, maybe razed. I'm not checking the log, because I think it's broken.

Techs learned:
Corp - Assembly Line - Bio - Medicine - Set to Electricity, no beakers invested.

Edit: there are a few Calvalry on a goto to Bibracte to reduce the chance of revolts.

Looking for a save

@LK Are you sure? I can see one.
I can see it now. Our posts were on top of each other. Did you edit the save in?

Err.. I don't think so. Maybe. I don't remember.
I'm sorry if I did without saying so.

EDIT: Regardless, shouldn't it say "Last edited by ZPV at..." at the bottom of the post if anyone viewed it before the edit?

Edit2: ...like this post does

This deserves another :bump:
