Do you people actually play civ?

Just come to the zone sometimes, there are almost always other players out there, just join a game or start a new.

MP games sometimes take a lot of time but a small map duel usualy takes from 10 min to 1 hour, this should make sceduling unnessecery.

Also for me MP is the only thing that makes civ2 interesting nowadays, I've got the maximum score on deity, thought I was a real good player....
When I started to play MP I discovered that most human player arent as stupid as the AI, everyone with his/her own strategy's, and for the first months I (deity god in SP) got my ass kicked by everyone around

To me MP gives a whole new dimension to the game, aside from better battles (no human will try to take a pikeman-defended mountain with knights for 10 rounds ) there is also Diplomacy in MP, in SP the options are limited and the AI's reactions are verry predictable, when playing other humans its a whole new game

Never played civ 2 over the internet, just Diablo 2.

I will try civ 3 MP when it comes out, as it is too hectic with revision for GCSE to try a succession game right now.

I got Civ 3, but never got it too work on my computer.

I remember several regulars claiming that they only ever play MP Civ 2, so was wondering why you hadn't put that as a poll option.
Is there anyone who voted who actually does this, but had to say that they played both MP and SP because there wasn't the option?

I play Civ3...when I have time. You have to have three or four hours to get really into it. Civ2 I usually play SP, but I quitted after I got Civ3. Maybe I'll go back to it now.

I only recently got Civ 3 so I am spending alot of time playing it in single player. I only played Civ 2 single player as well because I don't have the time to play online and my connection is not as good as it could be.

Exactly. Once you realize this, playing the AI is just never the same. I've been in some big, long games of Civ2 MP and trying to play the GOTM or any SP game is just exceedingly boring. It is far less thrilling to beat the crap out of the AI than to have a real, competitive battle against something that acutally THINKS and REACTS.

I would love to try MP, but as for many others my schedule and slow internet connection have dissuaded me from even trying If anyone would be willing to humiliate an MP newbie for at most an hour at a time on occasional evenings, over the course of probably a few weeks to actually finish a game, I would be interested Just PM me
