So, Serbs should be be rewarded for attempting to commit genocide?

eheheheh

those innocent albanians........

The ALbianians should preserve their culture.

Albanians immigrants in Serbia has no right to consider that land as their.
Immigrants should work for the country where thay live (!!!SERBIA!!!) and not raclaim it for Albania

While I am not comfortable with the idea that part of a country can vote to break away from the rest - this violates the spirit of the EU for example. I think really it only shows the deep divisions and antagonism that exists between the different cultures in that part of the world.

They'll all join the EU eventually, then the split will be largely meaningless.

kosovo starts ww3? in a game of civ4 that is, right?

In a game of civ4 the city of Pristina is overrun by EU culture and breaks out and asks if the EU lets it join or disbands the city.

Nobodies starting world wars isn't that unlikely. WW1 was started by one, and WW3 was almost started by another nobody.

No, I don't, and it never will be as long as Russia (and China) is against it. Even Germany seems to have doubts now. Seems its basically the US, UK and the French who support them.

Regrettably, yes. It's just unrealistic to expect Kosovars to be governed by the people that until recently were busy trying to exterminate them. The only options seem to be expulsion, extermination, repression, festering civil war or independence propped up by EU support. Serbia surrendered any moral claim to govern the territory after it's little genocidal adventure.

Don't worry about any failed state nonsense. We've got their backs. Oh, I forgot, that was probably just veiled Islam bashing. Whatever.

Islam is bashing itself pretty good. And moral claim to the territory? What the hell is that?
BTW. There are no "Kosovars". There are Serbs, Albanians, Roma, etc. from Kosovo.

Kosovo will never be a real state, nor part of Serbia, nor anything else but a ridiculous failed experiment and a permanent scar on EU and overall European history.
EU had a chance to stand up and prove that it is not to be "messed" around, but it just proved that its just an American puppet.......oh well.
Sleep now in the fire.

P.S. Im not talking about governments (theres no surprise there) but about people.

No.

It was a unilateral declaration of independence that has not been legalised through the UN Security Council. Those agreeing to recognise Kosovo are, in the eyes of international law, a coalition of willing renegades.

As always there are three sides to every story... Side A, Side B and the Facts and Truth being somewhere between Sides A and B, no doubt in favour of one or the other.

On one side, the Kosovars have been there an awful long time, on the other hand, have they really been there a "long" time considering the longevity of European civilisation? And for that matter, while it's all well and good for a culturally aware people to want self-determination, I'd love to see what would happen if the south-west of the United States decided it was more Hispanic than American and wanted to secede and claim a right to self-determination. As a former soldier who would ordinarily shun politics, I'd love to see some genuinely presented evidence as to how this isn't more political BS from either side.

I recognize that Kosovo will be what it is going to be, a nation where the strings are still getting pulled by some foreign power or a small group of thugs with little power left to the people. Is that what you mean?
