That shouldn't be a problem. Give each team a team password, in their thread. Then the other teams won't be able to see it, but lurkers could of course see whatever they like, and use any password they find. :)

Neat idea, Niklas , I might just do that. I do also have ways and means to detect mis-use of a team password by a player from another team :mischief:

I voted 'Yes, and I'd like to see more graphs'. Compare these games to any sports competition - for example, downhill skiing. There is a ton of performance data available real time as the competition unfolds. They don't hide the performance of the first skiers down the slope; every following skier knows what time they have to beat and gains information about the conditions of the hill. In skiing they bias the second round by the performance from the first so that the best skiers from round1 go last, mostly to add excitement for the viewers as the leaders change often; here the only bias is how fast the team plays, and usually the more experienced teams play fairly fast setting a mark for slower teams to try to better.

I really disliked it when the SGOTM information was limited to the date of the slowest teams; it didn't feel like a competition at all.

I voted no,

I use any information that i get if possible. I know there are others who do so too.

That is not the part of the game that i really like.

The only thing i would really miss however is to see at what date the other teams are. We aren't a slow team, but with the variable finish dates in sgotm it would be nice to know where we stand in our progress and not finish late or hurrying too much so that it damages our game.

You could then even give teams the freedom to choose:
-protected data and not being able to see other teams data
-non protected data and being able to see all other non protected data

More graphs=more potential info=more ability to infer stuff about other games. I don't mind seeing it, it doesn't make for much changing of plans, it does make me curious about reading threads to see what they've done to get a different result. I'd prefer less graphs than more, but score, culture and territory seems reasonable.

The actual reason I've bumped this is just to check something. It seems that the territory graph counts all territory, including ocean tiles, rather than going with the ingame territory count that's used for domination. Is there a reason for that?

It's the same number that's counted for QSC (which seldom has to worry about sea and ocean tiles). I haven't modded the utility we use to get the domination-specific tile count.

I was quite surprised to see so many new graphs available - I had thought the community did not want any more than those existant when the poll started.

However, some are amusing to watch and let you draw nice conclusions about other team's strategies (that's why many voters did not want them). Not that they might help us much... :mischief:

But in some cases there seem to be mistakes, I can't remember us having such a long period without corruption (hope this is no spoiler information)... :crazyeye: :D

I'm fairly sure that this is a mistake, all those graphs shouldn't be published. Same thing happened last game, where AlanH had been too optimistic in his assessment of the time frame for the game. I'm sure the graphs will be removed again as soon as he finds out... ;)

Yup! Moved it back a month last time, and I was still too optimistic. Next game I'll set the target close for 2050AD and then bring it forward when we actually close :p

I very much doubt whether you'll get any benefit from them in this game, though.
