does production automation rush production?

I'm in the modern era, just waiting for spaceship parts to complete so I have a lot of my cities on auto production. I'm also saving gold to rush some wonders but the last turn my gold dropped over 1000. Will the auto production actually rush improvements?

I'm automating workers now, but I don't think I'd ever automate production; queues are enough for me.:)

Same here; I'm a builder, I couldn't imagine letting the computer choose what to build for me! The suggestions in the pop-up almost always suck, and I assume they use similar scripts.

I love automation and I won't touch prod. auto unless I'm so far in front in the game that I've stopped trying and know I'll still win. This usually only happens 2 levels below where I should be playing or in space races following successful conquest where the AIs are still being idiots.

wow that is really annoying. Yeah I have the game very locked up so I was automating production on some island cities, while my main cities build space parts. I was planning on rushing a few late wonders but all the sudden my treasury was gone. Annoying.

It's why you frequently see me build wealth in such cities so I don't have to bother with them (and can push up the slider a tiny bit too). Although since I favor workshop/hammer cities way more than most other players, building wealth to run the gold through my best cities' multipliers is part of my teching oftentimes.

Common end civics for me are rep or US, bureaucracy or FS or nationhood, caste or emancipation, and SP or FM. If I have a lot of settled specs I will use rep otherwise US. Emancipation isn't always necessary or worth the hit in production even with a few cottage cities, but I can always switch after long enough. The uses/decisions between FS/nationhood/bur should be obvious, as should SP vs FM :p.

Is there no way to turn this feature off? Any way to mod it to turn off?
