DominatrNES: Infinite Struggle

Unless you wan't everyone seeing your affairs, it would be best to PM the Diplomacy next time! ;)

To: Phoces
From: Terantia

It is understood that you are to receive timber shipments soon. Could we work out a deal? We have some gold to spare.

To: Phoces
From: Iomir

Since we are relatively close, trade will be often and will help us both. We have your back if any pirates try to sail our seas!

MoMo take something else man .. :(

These are the things I dont mind everyone seeing. I PM the secret stuff.... :mwaha: :nya:

TO: Terantia

Indeed. This timber was meant to boost the shipbuilders, but some can be diverted to Terantia if you so desire. What would you offer for, say, three galley holds of ghatiwood?

TO: Iomir
FROM: Phoces

Indeed, let the trade commence! It is our hope that as we both expand we can rid the land of the last pirate outposts.

MoMo take something else man .. :(

We don't need anything long term as of now, we just need a good fleet to scout the seas. One sixth of your total shipment for 6 gold. How does that sound?

OOC: Remember guys, orders are due Saturday, hurry up and get them in! The sooner they're in, the sooner i can write a new update!

turn 2 :
Government : Unitary Parliament with Constitutional Monarchy

The kings' Court has the following seats :
The King
The minister of state: This person is the 2nd most important person in the kingdom, he looks after most of the kingdoms affairs including the relationship with other kingdoms, construction projects and also Diplomacy.
The Traders' guild master: This is elected post which usually changes annually. All the traders votes to elect this post. Greater trade profits and initiative for newer trade routes usually have a positive influence on the other members.
The Warriors' guild master:This is elected post which usually changes annually. All the warrior families votes to elect this post. Glory earned in the battles usually have a positive influence on the other members. Paschim Ghati has been a rather peace loving society, which has been the
cause of a pretty weak Ksatriya cast.

Recently, with the surge of the many native villages, this has caused many a scare. News of the rather Barbaric Shoshay tribes, and their atrocities has caused many a gossip mongers regarding how we are weakly protected. Also fueled to this kind of war encouragement has come
from the trader families who see this is a good chance to trade in "slaves", which are in good demand, especially in the outpost resource centers.
The family adviser: A brahmin priest is admitted into this post, mostly by their renown. He would usually be of use in the family ceremonies and advices the king based on the location of the heavenly bodies in the sky.

With the commencement of trade between Phoces and Alexandria, money started to flow in. The major beneficiaries of this trade was the trading class of course. This has led to some resentment among the other classes who envy their growth. An 'adviser' has even met the king, stating this concern. The king thought that it was a good joke and he was promptly shown the door outside.

Meanwhile, the construction of the armory, which had caused much strife among the members of the kings court was finally brought to an end. the kingdom itself will undertake the construction of the armory. The armory will have 5 blacksmiths commissioned by the kings court, and several
apprentices. The armory will take care of construction of weaponry for the army. These are not allowed to be traded else where in the realm.

However, on the bright side, the merchants' guild was given the permission to develop the coastal fishing village into a harbor, with proper shipbuilding facilities. The shipbuilders will currently fashion fishing boats and trading galleys as of now. Our emissary returning from the western lands of Phoces and Alexandros report of mighty strong ships already being built in these kingdoms. The king has been planning to hire some of these shipbuilders to our realm so that a strong navy could also be recruited. An agreement regarding the same was reached with Phocean Town with Lord Tambien.

There has been a spurt of native villages that began to appear in the area. The warriors guild has shown interest in taking an initiative to take care of these
rebel towns, before they become a threat of any kind. A Town sentry party would be recruited for the better protection of the town.

Chapter Two: Rising Powers (61-90 WhC)

Peace between Mechpar and Gilguron was short. Another storm was brewing. The council in Gilguron voted to expand the military and one thing led to another. Soon enough, Gilgurs marched the sands, crossed the Gulgat, and began tearing through Mechpar. King Kettosuhiash was decapitated in front of his cowering soon-to-be prisoners belonging to Gilguron. The great Gilgur general, Makashet, was showered with gifts. Gilguron nearly drove the fleeing Mechpars into the river to drown in their fellow soldiers' blood. Meanwhile, the south of Mechpar quickly became troubled. With all forces devoted to the northern front, the power-hungry Ashpites raced in to sweep the southern settlements. Farms were burned and Ahspite flags were erected in each village. The Ashpites, basking in their own glory, completely forgot about the dormant volcano of a state, Otara. Little did they know, it was due to erupt.

From the tops of the watch posts in Di Ota, cries and shouts indicated that there was a war across the river. The Ashpites were slaughtering Mechpar, and King Qaotar III developed a plan with one of his new military tacticians. A few short days later, Otaran soldiers crossed the river in rafts and began making their own conquests. While Ashpai was busy, Otara gained a foothold in the southern area of their lands. Ashpai, very frustrated attempted to form peace with Otara to only be fighting one war at once, but Otara, remembering Ashpai's previous offenses, immediately declined. The war raged on.

To the east, in the cradle, war was present as well. Burishtite raiders pierced Keshbar's borders easily and began to burn villages and claim tracts of land for their own use. Trade from Gilguron was effectively cut off, leaving Keshbar ath Burisht's mercy. With no food, they had to comply and nearly fell into a state of becoming part of Burisht. However, the young nation of Negat, along with the rising state of Crodila, provided assistance for Keshbar before it was too late. With a little military support, Keshbar was able to force Burisht to agree to peace. This would not be the end of the Cradle conflicts just yet.

Pyrem, slowly becoming dominant in the Wisay river valley over the years, continued their historic rivalry with Quesha. This time, it proved to be fatal. King Raemethius made the decision to launch a bid to conquer the whole river valley. Deqalsar, once a Queshan city, ironically served as the main base for Pyrem soldiers at the commencement of their campaign. Quesha, sensing the attack, responded well at first, but the Pyrem forces were far superior. It ended quickly and the entire Queshan empire was shattered, forcing refugees to hurry across the Mosiar mountains and settle in the savannah. A state called Usir, a combination of Pirates, Pyrem settlers, Queshan refugees, and Phocesian explorers, was founded further down the river, at a safe distance from Pyrem.

North of the cradle area, there was an aura of peace and prosperity. Paschim Ghati got along well with it's neighbors, including a new one: Drubela. Paschim Ghat timber made it's way down the Trymos to Haredicumian states, and Paschim Ghati began to make some decent profit. However, there have been grumblings about there not being enough food and the leadership neglecting Agriculture, but things seemed relatively fine.

Along the Zoan river, similar peace existed. Khay Lat grew significantly, and a new state, Meto, was established. Shosay even seemed uncharacteristically quiet for a period of time. Khay Latian religion began to flourish, and people believed the peace to be brought on by sacrifices for nature.

On the thought of sacrifices, Kryonian citizens were busy sacrificing animals and food at large stone structures called Marices, and arming themselves in preparation for war. In their sights was the growing state of Alexaendros. Kryon, after a few days of planning, was able to surprise the Alexaendrosi with a nocturnal attack. On the following morning, Alexaendros was able to dig deep and defend their part of the peninsula bravely. Kryon was pushed back to the isthmus, and began to regroup. In order to attempt to cut off Alexaendros from receiving any more wood from the west, Kryon boats attempted to block the mouth of the Trymos River. However, it was a failure. Combined efforts of Phocesian seafarers and Paschim Ghat traders were able to fend off the Kryons. Phoces set up several forts at the mouth to make sure it never happened again, and so the timber trade would continue as it had been for quite some time now.

Phoces was very active, setting up settlements on the nearby western tip of Empreca. The natives were subjugated. Phoces subdued them with promises of the famous Paschim Ghat wood. Phoces met a functional state to their East called Sinopa. Sinopa, sitting along the coast by Drop, was a small state of Drop refugees looking to escape the island. They remembered the Phoces and how they usurped their island, but they were too intimidated by Phoces' mighty presence in the seas to attempt to retake the island. Phoces, however prosperous and skilled it was, was unable to settle on Uharrhesia. The pirates proved to be too powerful, and drove back both the Phocesians and Iomirics.

The Italis peninsula was a bit more quiet, the only action being that the Terant, Glypthan, and Phential states all swelled in size to surround the struggling Canfrean state. Rumors curculated that Canfre was due to collapse, with leadership not solving any issues or making any attempt to advance. Some Canfreans, fearing collapse, fled to the island of Hurrisum, to the east, and set up a small state called Tembrnos. Another young state, Ecta, rose, in the lands between Terantia and Kryon.

The Western continents were no longer the only ones with civilized states on it. Extal, the southern continent in the east, became home to the jungle cultures of Moctzal, Tlaah, and Garetikoo. Could these jungles soon see the rise of a great empire? Time will tell.

Sun Priest Aztlat overlooked the group assembled before him with distaste. Disabled, old, sick, and even some women! These were meant to be the sacrifices to Tenochtlat, the Sun Demon?! He turned in anger to the priest next to him.

"Who are these weaklings, these wastes of air? They don't deserve to be sacrificed!"

"They are the last of the Xletempan prisoners, mi'lord," answered the priest with a bow. "We sacrificed all of the healthy men already."

"Huh. I could of sworn we had about 100 more..."

"Sacrificed 'em all on the Solstice."

"Oh right. Well, get to it then," said the Sun Priest as he began to walk away. "I'll see to getting more sacrifices." He entered the palace compound and sat down on one of the many benches. We need more sacrifices, but from where? The prisons had been exhausted, and Aztlat refused to sacrifice native Moctzans. He stood up and walked to the window. Time for war again. A smile broke out on his face which soon turned into a broad grin, and then a laugh.

"We will invade the lowlands and carry off all of their gold, women, and most importantly, sacrifices!" said Aztlat to no one in particular.

Who took that area at the mouth of the river I was planning on making mine? Just wondering...

We know your heritage, and the fact that you escaped the island of Drop when it was annexed by the Republic. We do not harbor hard feelings, and instead would like to ensure the continuity of your land as a center of trade with the eastern and southern lands. As such, know that Phoces has no territorial ambitions on your land and in fact would like to offer formalization of trade.
