looking forward to an expiditionary war.

be warned though hard it will be.

me and a friend are engaged in one at the moment, it is long and bloody, if you manage to sustain your toe hold on the mainland after the first few waves you should be okay.

oh, and have PLENTY of reserves, in our game we bot got forced back into one city each respectively after our initial suprise assualt, made for a truly epic confrontation.

looking forward to seeing how you go about it :)

Yeah nukes are bad, but I suggest using maybe one or two, maybe they could spice up the story hehe. Not that it needs much spicing now.

Sorry that you had to wait a little longer then expected for the next set of updates, but due to the fact that they contain the USoF history of about 300 years it took a little longer to wrap everything into a coherent storyline...

But things are looking good now, I have decided on the screens I will use and have drawn the "red-line" of the storyposts to come... ...so I can start working on the individual storyposts now:crazyeye::)

    …

Taken from the Karakorum times, author unknown (since most (=all) information released in the USoF countries tended to be a little biased towards praising Don Deity’s glory, wisdom and overall friendly and peaceful nature, I had to travel around quite a bit to find this article which hopefully will give you a neutral overview over the situation of the four continents on Don Deity’s world):

    “
    Karakorum. Feb. 17, 1436:

Today is a dark day in history. This very morning, our wise and just president Kublai, elected by the free people of Mongolia and head of the MATO alliance, by democratic vote of all its member states, released very sad news. And just for those who still don’t know, here’s a little insight into the MATO organisation:

The MATO - Mongolian Alliance Treaty Organisation – is an alliance of independent states to secure wealth, growth, freedom and liberty amongst its neighbours, but most of all, protection from any USoF aggression against all member states. The MATO consists of 3 full members, Mongolia (the founding nation of the MATO), the Zulu and the Malines Nation (Zulu and Mali having defensive pacts each with Mongolia) and two voting members, Korea (an ancient vassal state of Mongolia) and China (more or less bound to the MATO by the need of security, protection and trading partners).

Forced by their evil Tyrant and Dictator Don Deity, the USoF states have closed their borders for all trade. No MATO goods are allowed to be shipped into the USoF territory, not even non military goods. Due to the very poor food situation on thecontinentwiththeterriblelongname, President Kublai has expressed its concerns that starvation might spread from the USoF occupied regions in USoF Germany also into the rest of Germany. All Mongolian efforts in convincing Don Deity to accept help in form of food and medicine from the MATO countries have been turned down so far.

    110.JPG

And with the USoF still blocking naval passage to Persia, with the host of the Celtic Fleet controlling the eastern shore (11 ships altogehter, 7 cruisers and 4 transports) and the not so might German Fleet controlling the western shores (mainly with not so might caravels), Persia is also cut off from any MATO supplies and poverty and hunger are spreading like a wildfire all over Persia.

    …

As already mentioned by our wise and just President Kublai in a press conference yesterday, a military intervention by the MATO isn’t an option right now. Although the USoF military strength only is about a third of the strength of the Mongolian military and only about a fifth of the military power the MATO in total wields, the short distance from the… …lets simply call it “Nameless Continent” to France and the huge production power France is able to muster by it’s size alone makes a military intervention by the MATO forces very difficult, if not impossible, according to our sources in the MATO ministry of defence.

    111.JPG

Another important issue are the two already by the USoF controlled Islands from the Yumyum Archipelago, directly in front of the shores of Bompf and New Constantinople:

    113.JPG

As an unofficial source form the Mongolian government revealed to us, the USoF were already starting to build two big rocket bases, one on each island, using the technology of rocketry, already known in the MATO countries since decades, but apparently also recently mastered by the USoF alliance. Both bases would apparently be equipped with middle range rockets, one able to reach North New Constantinople and the other the heart of Bompf itself. As President Kublai stated, this matter is more urgent to the MATO people then the distant war in Persia. In a secret conference between Don Deity and President Kublai, our beloved President apparently has managed to convince Don Deity to stop the work on both bases. Officially the MATO hadn’t committed to offer anything for that, but again, our unofficial sources revealed that the MATO has apparently agreed NOT to interfere in any internal military operations from the USoF army in “Nameless Continent”, including on Persian territory.

    112.JPG

Besides that President Kublai took the chance to inform the Mongolian Nation that the Mongolian space program was approaching another big breakthrough… …apparently a manned space vassal was scheduled to be launched for the moon within the next 10 years from the Mongolian space port near Old Sarai, shorter testing missions would already start later this very year, under the command of General Apollo Keschblatsch…

    Arms race:

    ...

Once the peace with the evil Persians was secured, the Don Deity immediately tried to keep the USoF competitive with the MATO also in terms of production and economy. Some huge efforts were taken and impressive buildings and monuments were created all over France:

    118.JPG

Hastings started to build the Mount Rushmore, some lovely stone carved heads, guarding a lovely valley full of… …statues…

    …

Argos, once an independent Greek city begun work on something called Wallstreet, which later should become the headquarter of ALL USoF banks and, guess what… …yes… …the wallstreet got decorated later with lots of beautiful statues to make it really something to remember…

    117.JPG

And even the Celtic regions should become beautiful, because a small pathway towards the icy north passing the monastery of Tolosa, where the famous spy monks lived, and still live, that proved so useful during the Celtic wars was enlarged and decorated with some of the most beautiful statues Don Deity ever created… …and should from then on be called the Broadway:

    116.JPG

And on a small island in front of the shores of London, another impressive building was created, called by Don Deity the Statue of Oppression (shortly after it’s completion it was renamed by Don Deity’s public relations office into Statue of Liberty, for obvious reasons…) situated on a lovely island, made out of millions of smaller statues, because using these was simply cheaper then getting the needed materials the conventional way… …and just to keep the waist as low as possible, the leftovers from the statues that weren’t needed for the Statue of Opp… …umh… …Libery were used to decorate the University of London… …but some vandals wasted it all by spraying “Oxford” onto the big white door from the main entrance with black letters… …idiots…

    …

Most of the other cities in France hadn’t that much luck and weren’t exactly becoming more beautiful… …to be honest, most of them were becoming quite stinky and smoggy… …building mainly factories and other production boosting stuff.

But it all followed a higher goal, because as the years passed the USoF scientist uncovered the secret of flight, and not much latter also the concept of sticking extremely dangerous rockets to flying stuff, allowing them to build gunships… …which was considered by Don Deity and General Supersnaat a great achievement. And even better was the fact that the surviving soldiers from the battalions of cavalry proved to be pretty good at flying these new war machines… …maybe riding and shooting wasn’t much different then flying and shooting in the end.

    …

And so it came that only after about 60 years of peace the USoF army invaded Persia again, this time with the ultimate goal to end the cruel Persian oppression once and forever…

And in the outskirts of Arbela, the first major battle took place. About 20 battalions of USoF gunships, backed by some battalions of artillery and infantry faced about the same number of Persian defenders, but these were lacking gunships. It was a long and brutal fight, lasting almost two weeks. The USoF soldiers advanced step by step, but the Persian defenders simply wouldn’t give up. Then, after 12 days of fighting, General Supersnaat led the final air strike himself, with his brand new gunship (actually, it was already his 3rd gunship, because for unknown reasons he wasn’t so skilled in flying them and had crashed the first two right into the ground, only some seconds after taking off…)

When the dust settled, there were no more Persian battalions left to face the USoF army. The few Persian survivors fled to a mountain range near Arbela and could only watch the USoF army marching towards Persepolis and Pasardadae, leaving a trail of death and destruction along their path. But the losses on the USoF side had also been numerous, 5 entire battalions of gunships (+ the two General Supersnaat had devastated all by himself) had been lost, 3 battalions of artillery and another 4 battalions of infantry were gone.

    114.JPG

But apparently, Cyrus hadn’t been caught as much by surprise as General Supersnaat and Don Deity had hoped… …the same day the USoF soldiers crossed the Persian border near Arbela, the Persian army marched for Bremen… …and the defenders there stood no chance, Bremen was under Persian control again…

    115.JPG

There Germans tried to launch a major counterattack, consisting of a battalion of cavalry and one of grenadiers… …but… …well… …General Supersnaat and Don Deity deemed their chances to recapture the city… …umh… …not so high…

    …

Around the same time the USoF army was marching again, another big revolution swept all over the USoF countries:

The concept of Mercantilism was incorporated, not only in England but in ALL USoF member states (Don Deity had a pretty direct political approach to that: switch government NOW to Mercantilism or die… …please), to form a stable block that could cope with the threat of the MATO countries, running Fee Market amongst all their members.

In general, everything was going more or less according to plan, with his army marching for central Persia and the reinforcement lines carefully planned this time and fully operational... …up to the moment, a messenger from Knossos burst into the room where Don Deity was just sitting having an apply pie and some green tea:

“Don Deity… …Don Deity… …terrible news, the Persian… …the Persians… …they… …they… …they have tricked us… …a huge Persian fleet has popped out of nowhere… …and immediately has begun to laying siege on Knossos with the whole English fleet trapped there in the harbour… …and to make things even worse, the Persians are already controlling the beach west of Knossos… …apparently preparing everything to launch an assault on the city itself while their warships are blowing our defences there to dust…”

    …

Don Deity was furious… …even after he had turned the damn messenger into stone and thrown him out of the window personally, watching the statue smash on the pavement and scatter into thousands of peaces… …NOT again… …first, Bismarck had managed to launch a surprising ambush on Knossos, cutting off the USoF reinforcement routes, forcing him to stop the war without advancing into central Germany and without capturing their capital… …and now Cyrus is trying the same again… …how could the Greek, Celt and German navy let slip through a whole fleet…
