That thing I'm doing where I keep revisiting older games to relive the memories? IOT IV:A and Aftermath were the first ones, now I'm doing Revolution IOT. This time, I made a little map based on
the game's epilogue!
I purposely avoiding too much creative license. I actually really enjoyed this game and a part of me would like to do a fanmade sequel to it someday.
So, what’s documented here?
In Europe, nothing major. I just credited the BRIG powers (that’s me!) with their claims on the final turn. My end goal was to colonize most of Eastern Europe and later apportion it into independent states. Scotland has been given a different shade to account for the revolt there.
In the Americas, again, nothing major, based on the epilogue. Do note that the USA (Tyo) no longer has its capital marker.
In Africa, status quo antebellum, based on the “white peace” discussion. However, the USA’s capital is now Ethiopia’s to account for the USA becoming the real colony of the two.
Asia is, unsurprisingly, where the action is. Rome (WIM) has ceded a little territory to its enemies, but the real dealbreaker is the independence of Iran and the Indian princely states, which has devoured a huge amount of its territory. As unsightly as Roman Central Asia is, I didn’t see anything indicating that had broken away, so I let it be. Since this was just for fun, I didn’t really base the princely state borders off anything; I just carved a few out of Roman India. Russia (Red) and FRC (Kinich) have made slight territorial gains at Rome's expense.
Beyond that, you’ll notice the Inner Dominion of China (Ailedhoo) has an independent state in the southeast! That’s actually the central government of the IDC, with the darker purple being the claimed but effectively locally independent states, based on the language of the epilogue. I would have broken China up into several smaller polities, but I didn’t want to individually color every province, plus I didn’t want to go too far beyond the epilogue’s language.
Oceania just has the FRCN having annexed Borneo yet again, based on the epilogue.
And that’s that.

The map doesn’t look
too different, but all the subtle details are there. It was a fun game to play it all, and one day I’d like to see what the post-war world would have looked like.
