Double Your Pleasure

check the tutorials on "adding a unit" and go backward, making sure all entries match the ones you used...

the ini file must match the file name ie:
p38.ini must be in a folder called p38 exactly...

look in your pediaicons for the entry(way at the bottom) and make sure the folder name matches
the entry should be similar to this

#ANIMNAME_P38
P38

if your looks different, change it and it should work...
as this is not the place for this, if you have anymore problems you can PM me

Sorry, there is indeed a "ini"-file. I was looking for a file with the ini-extension.
I renamed the text-file and can now build my P-38.
Thanks to you all.

I'm not sure if this has been encountered but here are two screen caps of the errors I've encountered on my first launch of the DYP Mod.

This is the Setup Screen (look at all the text)

This is the Menu Screen After Exiting the Mod

I reinstalled the mod twice then patched my PTW and now am suffering from the 'no cd' bug (which is an entirely diffrent issue)

My question though; is this a problem with the mod, my version or perhaps a corupted d/l?

Have you got the correct patch for your language version? Try again here. I think it is a patch problem, but I'm not sure. You might also want to see if anyone else in the DyP thread had a similar problem.

I had that problem as well...try deleting everything involved with DyP, and go to the DYP site... http://civ3.bernskov.com/ and get it, and all the patches...worked for me...

also find the 31 civ diplomacy.txt (I tried, I cant...good luck) these two things made it playable for me...I dont know what the prob was, but I feel it was the diplo, or script txt files

Thanks.

I've uninstalled C3 and PTW and will reinstall everything today. I got DYP from their site, and d/l the PTW patch from there as well. In rerto I think there may have been some pathing issues, as I had my Civ Games (as well as other games) on my F Drive and did not used the default pathing (i.e C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\ ... ) *shrug*

I'll try to default install to see if that makes a diffrence.

After complete reinstall I now can't get DYP to open It stops loading at 30% with the following error msg.
Missing Entry In "text\PediaIcons.txt" ICON_BLDG_Palace_Garden

Is this a problem with just one CivPedia Entry or likely all/most? Always stops at 30% w/ the same error. Should I re-re install, d/l again, try to edit the file?

I have just Completed a game and Won as Mali under Domination Victory it was suprisingly easy under Warlord So I chose the Civ that seems most difficult and Played on Kal- els map on Monarch mode then Wow all these other Civs began pumping out wonders as early as 1050 BC and now its 350 AD and countrys are working on Coprenticuses observitory well because theres not really any other wonder out thats not bein completed yet
Somehow my Score is Competative due to my number of Cities and Land Area in Australia But All the other countrys are much more advanced I just recently learned Democracy but everyone else is already in the middle ages

Any tips explanations ect?
oh and im playing as Suix because they apear most difficult to play as
Is it a good Idea for me to Continue my Strategy for rapid Growth until I have atleast all of Oceana?

Is it possible to change in some way the difficulty-setting in a saved-game of a custom map? If yes how?
I played RaR now for many hours and come to the conclusion that:
- I really like RaR.
- In RaR the starting location is a lot more important than in Civ3. In a custommap situation I would like to increase difficulty settings if the situation is very prosperous. If you leave it to easy the whole game is getting a little boring because there is no pressure anymore. I see no way to restart in a normal way and coming up in exactly the environment with a heavier diff setting.
Anybody a solution?

After a day of Downloading(with my 56k Modem), Installing and Re-Installing DyP 1.01r, I had the idea that my Problems were due to the fact that I use the German Version of Civ 3 1.29. Since the DyP-Forum is not available and I did not find any help here, I found the solution rather by fortune in a German Civ-Form, which should not be a problem, since only German-speaking Players are concerned.

To help other desperated Civ3-German Players in finding the solution a little easier and quicker, I thought it was a good idea to post it here:

Reason: Hardly any English Mod will work in German Civ3 because the German version contains translated names for Archives and Files.

Solution: Either you have to rename every File and Archive manually (if you're bored have nothing else to do...) Or you check out the following Link

http://www.civforum.de/showthread.php?t=14827&page=1&highlight=Ordner+umbenennen

There you'll find a tool named "civ3d2us" developed by a guy named Goethe. The really small DOS-Proggy (only 4 Kb) does the afore-mentioned Work for you: after launching it in your Civ3-Archive, a DOS-Window opens, an your Files are copied and renamed.

The right order for the procedute should be:
1. Install Civ3,
2.Copy civ3d2us in Civ3-Folder and launch it (visit the Link above)
3. Install DyP or any other English Mod.

I haven't checked too other Mods by now, but at least DyP seems to run error-free.

Bye, bye, have Fun

I have civ3 complete (atari) I have tried to download many mods and can not get them to work some need winrar I do not know where to put the program when I down loadit any help will be greatly appreciated thanks

If you've got complete I would go with Rise and Rule, as opposed to DyP. It's the same basic mod, same creators, but specifically designed for Conquests, which is what most complete users play.

If you need a program to extract a .rar file, I would suggest trying Snapfiles. That link will take you directly to the rar search. There are both shareware and freeware links there.

Hope this helps.

Can you make a world map with this? In fact is there anyway to import rules with civ3? I would like to use this mod with a world map.
