Ok, another question for you if you don't mind. How does one install Civ3 in another folder should I want to try another mod for fun?

When I try to install Civ3 now, it wants to delete my original game & start over.

bshirt, I think someone else mentioned that they renamed the current folder, and then installed Civ again.

I have installed and copied, but not reinstalled. That way I can play two different versions by renaming two folders.

How come I suddenly get white text on grey backgtound. I can't read it. I didn't get it this morning. Is my PC screwed somehow? I'm using Opera (v6 currently) and have done so for a long time.

RobO, I'm getting the same thing. It's a PAIN. I think the forum guys did something dumb implementing all those popups I've been getting. It got so bad, I turned on my popup stopper. .

Sheeze, someone fix this!

a proposal (already proposed this on the map-thread):
why not treat desert like tundra?

on tundra, no city building is allowed until mined
on desert, no city building should be allowed until irrigated

In Opera, there is a button to switch btw. author and uservieew (not sure what it's called in the English language version). That makes the text readable.

Yeah, I found something in the Preferenes under "Page Style" that allowed me to get black text again.

I gotta get opera installed. I just downloaded it last night... just gotta install it. I also found a way to get rid of the blasted ads by hiding them... send me a pm if you want the details.

Disorganizer: If you can send me a savegame with this bug, I'd be happy to look into it. I don't think it is a mod bug, but you never know. Just send the savegame to isak@privat.dk . If you don't have a savegame, send me the details (as much as you can) and I'll try to reproduce it.

bshirt: Modding the music would probably be the easiest task in the world (since it's in Wave or MP3 format), but I don't have any knowledge that any of us are great composers (correct me if I'm wrong guys ) and the sounds folder is 160 mb, so if we were to do it right it would be one mother of a download.
It's not impossible that it will happen, but right now it is not being discussed (it is after all merely a cosmetic modification).

And, like RobO I never use the in-game sounds either, but play my favorite cd's

btw- the text problem on the forum has disappeared now, so you can reset your settings, guys

I got Opera installed, I think I like this sucker. .

I found a useful program to hide the ads in the Free version of Opera: http://www.danish-shareware.dk/soft/noopads/ Works nicely. No more ads!

i installed 084 and it seems to work now. i bet i would not be able to reproduce it but i will try to do and then email you.

another thing (well, actually 2) i noticed:

1) isnt chiefdom to have no unit support cost? i thought i read this somewhere
2) the science slider kept going up to 50% after each turn even if i put it down to 0% every time. is this on purpose or a "feature"?

i think i will have to read some strategy threads on this mod, as i totally lost the first tries (how do i get money to support my units in chiefdom?).
