Xen, you make an old milkman proud...
Anyway, what is this source? I can't and won't commit to anything right now as I have to get done with these other units first... but after that, anything is negotiable.
Xen said:*as a sid enot, it seems the "punic infantry" in Rome total war that every one is raving about is anything but
its essentally the most typical iberian style trooper I've ever seen, only coloured to match Carthage (and of course, the Iberians were the basis for what would become the Caesarian era legionaries)
Punic infatry woudl essentially be hoplites with a bronze "bullet helmet", and oval sheilds

Dom Pedro II said:Ok... so what you're saying then is that if I make this Iberian unit, it is effectually a standard Carthaginian unit? Could be an epic-game replacement, OR a Punic War base infantry unit for Carthage? Because that's what I was thinking about doing soon... an infantry unit for the Carthage. The Balearic Slinger covers the light infantry...

Also, one more point: Somebody requested the Poenic Infantry from Total War, so I don't really know if that's the same thing you guys are referring to, but the pic he showed had those guys with curved shields rather than the flat oval ones the Iberians are holding.

The "Zhanmadao" sword was used as an anti-cavalry sword by infantry. Zhanmadao swords are almost identical to Japanese No-dachi swords.
