I could kill the Sylvanians now, or take peace.* They offer Magic, Caravans and 2 workers.* Not sure what I should do, will think that one over.* I think I should take it, the tecs will put me into the next age(gearworks due in 1 turn), but that will only leave me with Chaos to send my military after, I have deals with everyone else, or they're too big or far away currently. I'll come up with something by the next time I have a moment to lead the Slan. Maby we can win this one, but it's going to be tough, I anticipate having to sack capitals to stop quest victorys, the tec pace is rocketing way above me.
 
We work out a deal with the Sylvanians. We really need to get back to our focus of taking out the Norse. Ships set sail to find the heathens who dared build the Black Library.

Accept the deal in 700 IC : Send out ships to find the Norse. Move my troops out of Sylvanian citys, except for 1 defender, just incase they flip.

710 : IC Gearworks in, we "have entered a distinctly new age in our development!" We got Steel as our free tec. Set Science to Saurus Spawning, due in 7. I'm way up in tec v/s Chaos and have them out numbered according to my military lizard. Trade Ungols Steel & Silks for Artificing and 4 GPT. Goblins offer Elephants and 13 GPT for Camels. I have no idea what they're going to do with them, but sounds good to me! Sell Steel to Ironclaw Orcs for 500 Gold. Turn science up a notch, Spawning due in 5 now. Our people want to build Thirst for Power. I'm glad they are power hungry, or thirsty I guess. Itza finishes Arena starts Windmill. Pahuax makes Skink Warrior starts Aqueduct. Tlanxla makes Barracks starts Windmill. Sylvanians are building Tarnhelm's keep again, good waste shields on that instead of spearmen. Boats are exploring, but not finding much.

More impressive than the mashed potatoe sculpture my artisans have been working on. Westerlander city of Klessen has completed the Witch Hunt. Boats are just revealing the coast line of empires we already know. Peace is booring, I want to find the Norse.

IBT : Khemri got contact with me from someone, they're offering slavery for 140 gold. Change it up and buy Slavery, contact with Darkelves, Lahmians, Amazons, Albioners and Wood elves for 480 gold.

740 IC : Tlax makes Marketplace, starts Windmill. Xahutec makes Sarus, starts Windmill. NORSICA has bought contact with me from somewhere! They are up in tec, duh, but have only 8 citys other than their capitol...Other new civs are about on par with me, but Dark Elves are a bit back, and Lhamia and Albion are WAY back, still at the beginning of the tec tree. Empire is down to 1 city other than capitol, some one is kicking their butt. I back science up for one turn. Need enough to build an embasy in Norse Capitol, then we'll know where to head. Black Lib is in their Capitol.

760 IC : Itza makes Windmill, starts Wizard's Guild. Hexoatl makes Aqueduct starts Marketplace. Orcs are building Tower of Zharr-Naggrund. Build Embassy in Olricstaad. It's pretty far away, but I can take it. Has 5 spears in it, 2 Wizards. Palace, Barracks, Errantry War, Black Library & Thirst for Power. They pull a lame 7 shields per turn. they have NO iron, only horses & useless halflings and wolves.

I diden't really mean to get that intensive about it. I read ALOT of succession games, and this "story" reads more like one of them than a true story. I wanted to get the Warhammer mod some attention, it's too cool, everyone needs to play it!

I find myself liking your story quite a bit, the humor has me laughing so hard at work that people look in to ask what's so funny, and I can't even begin to explain it!

I've just encountered the Albions in my own game, and can't help but see the king as Mr Bean in a funny new hat :)

Here's hoping we're both sucessfull!
 
We're going to need A ton of boats and Units to attack the Norse and even think of winning. I've never tried to take out a civ so far away in a game, usually I'll conqure my way to them, but I think this should be fun.

770 IC : Tlanxla riots, hire a clown. They'll be done with their Windmill shortly, and we can make a marketplace or arena to calm them. My people aparently like fine goods or blood. What a nice civ I lead. We have heard report of a massive evil uprising near Waldenhof. Might be a good opportunity to get some 'leets.

780 IC : Saurus Spawning in. This lets me build Spawning Pools for 160 shields that pop out a Saurus Warrior every 8 turns. This will help my military in so many ways. They also produce 1 culture. Talk about a great improvement! Set Science to Pole-Arms, we're going to need better defenders for our Norse war.

Westerlanders are building Citadel of Sunset. Pop rush the Aqueduct in Quetza, it's taking to long. Some one raized the Ungol city on the "huge chunk o' land." Just noticed it, but it must have happend during the IBT. Likely was the Goblins, they're still at war with them and have a city near by.

790 IC : Itza makes wizard guild, starts Spawning pool. Xlanhuapec makes Windmill starts spawning pool. Swartzhafen finishes Library, starts Barracks. Tlax finishes Windmill, starts spawning pool. Quetza finishes Aqueduct, this is a lame town, no production potential. It makes only 1 shield per turn, and has no chance to make more. Start it on spawning pool, will only take 80 turns to finish, i'll likely rush it just so the city can be good for something. Tlanxla makes windmill, starts spawning pool. I think they're more like lizard hot tubs. Chupayotl makes Barracks, starts skink Warrior.

The Amazons are building the Citadel of Sunset.

The coast line of the southern continent is making it look like it'll take a LONG voyage to get to the Norse. We're prepaired for it. We need a boat load of boats and a troop load of troops? you get the picture.

Find a Sea route to Olricstaad. The Norse have Giants guarding their city's now. These monsters are 12attack 6Defence. This is going to be tough. I want to bring alot of troops with me.

Upgrade 2 Canoe's to War Galleys and 1 skink warrior to Temple Guard.

Change Axlotl to Shipwrights' Guild, we'll need more vet boats. I'll have 8 Wargalleys once I upgrade the last boat. I think I'll need around 10 to bring the full force over.

Exploring ships find that the Norse actually have a large penensula at the tip of this continent. We now know the rout an invasion will have to take. It'll take a LONG time to get there, and if we're not sucessfull, it'll pretty much put us out of the game. Still, fortune favours the brave!

Seige of Suderholm: Vet saurus takes a hit from a wizard, kills spear. vet temple guard redlines but kills spear. Only the 2hit Jotun left that killed a temple guard last turn, and maby the wiz. Vet temple guard kills the giant. Vet temple guard kills wizard, Suderholm is ours.

Has the Great voyage in it, nice. Also has Aqueduct and Barracks. Start them on a shrine.

Khemri has all the tecs they need to win the quest victory, we have 2 tecs to go. I'm hoping that my prebuild gamble for the most expensive quest peice will pay off, but it's hard to say. The orc war is mostly just annoying, as our primary focus is beating Khemri to the quest peices. It's possible that I could have sent a force over to sac Khemri's capitol, if i wasen't busy fighting Chaos and Orcs. I may still try it, although i'm not sure if I have enough time.

If I can pull a win out at this point, I'll be quite supprised, but hey, at least I got to punish the Norse!

That Black Library capture was great, particularly how you got a bunch of techs that come in the game later than education by obtaining it so late. Ha!
 
I was quite tickled with that also :)

I'm nearly done with the game, it's a nail biter. The quest race between me and Khemri is so close it's driving me nuts! Should finish the last few turns tonight and have them posted with lots o' pics this week.

I finished up the game over lunch, but diden't have time to post the detales ( I spent too long watching the replay). I'll get it all posted tomorrow am or tonight if I'm free. This was the closest game I've ever played! quite a rush.

A question for those of you following this....

Is my way of posting exacting detale interesting to read, or would more "fluff" be better?

I'd like to do another "story" after this one, but I want to make sure people enjoy it.

I've read it all, but keeping track of what a city does is beyond my capabilities - still enjoyed it a lot. I think most readers will have appreciated this, since it gives detailed information on what a WH2 mod game is like.

I personally go for less detail and more babbling and pictures in my story, but I do that also because I knew that your story - being first - allready provided more detailed information than mine ever could - it's like comparing serious journalism to the yellow press :D.

Great game :goodjob: - looking forward to read what the end will be like :).

Hope to see another one from you - especially with the game concept you made up (now that I've understood it :blush: ). I'm not in for that, because I couldn't stand a chance, but I'd be very interested in reading something like that...

1500 IC : Laihtero in! Trade Redeye's Arcane Magic for 44 gpt and Areal combat. Trade Amazons Battle Magic for 380 gold. Science set to dragon cult, due in 4.

Change Itza to Laihtendrung, due in 9 (most expencive quest peice). Change Tlax to Crown of Domination, due in 15.

Olricstaad makes mage-priest, Starts and pop rushes temple guard. Drakenhof makes Stegadon, starts merchants' guild. Waldenhof makes kroxigor, starts trade goods. Swartzhafen makes Stegadon, starts Trade goods.

Change Hyttaholm to Temple Guard and rush it. Brace for loosing all my norse lands, but am not really concerned about it, it all comes down to who can build these last artifacts first. IBT : Orcs move from Suderholm towards westerlanders. good for them. Orcs land spearmen near southern Norse citys.

1530 IC : Khemri has only one quest peice to build. Investigate city of Khemri, it's building warpstorm. I need to find out where they are building that last peice and try to sabatoge it somehow. If they pull it off in 11 turns or less, we loose. I guess it's good that it's not in their capitol, maby they started it in some dink town and we'll win. This is nerve wracking!

IBT : Orcs and Westerland smack each other around. Orcs move in on Suderholm again, not sure if they're going to attack or just passing by on the way to westerland. Spearmen in southern norselands pillage some roads.

1560 IC : Investigate more, Khemri has too many defenders for me to sac it. 5 Turns till we're done making artifacts, I can't find a Khemri city that's building any, so maby they haven't started it yet?

1565 IC : Arabyans are building Miracle Cure. 4 turns, I can't stand it!

IBT : Khemri declares on Amazons. Khemri are building Miracle Cure. Hope they move some troops out of their capitol. Chaos and Goblins sign an alliance vs. Loren.

1570 IC : Tlax makes Crown Of Domination, one more to go, and it's done in 3...This is driving me NUTS! I have to go have a smoke.

IBT : Missed troop movement, but I feel much calmer. Don't start smoking if you haven't! It's bad for ya! Renew silk deal with Goblins. Trade embargo against us between Araby and Orcs ends.

1575 IC : 2 turns... Sign peac with Orcs, Gorbad, I think that's his name, says "Da boyz gots da loot, we no need fitin." Land 30 assorted units next to Khemri Capitol.

IBT : Khemri demands I leave.... I say no, they declare. They use spells to blast my boats, good. and then my troops, not so good. wow they have lots of spells. Khemri has WAY too many troops... They wound the entire stack... then kill most of them and redline the stack... then finish them off. Amazing, 30 units toasted. That was a bad idea. I see an orc army headed towards Westerland, haven't seen any AI armies before.

1580 IC : 1 turn left... I don't do anything, just hit enter and cross my fingers....

IBT : Orcs Declare war on us.

1585 IC : Xlanhuapec makes THE EYE OF SHEERIAN!
