DS3 - The secret war

@ Meldor : No worries. I see Shadow Warrior army in my own SP game all the time. Of course the army is from the AI. :D By the way, somehow you can't see the hidden unit under the new patch. One of our Shadow Warrior was killed by another Shadow Warrior and I can't see the unit it was fighting.

@ All : We need to watch out for possible Shadow Warrior attack from the AI. If our unit is attacked/killed/captured, then the Shadow Warrior will still be in that tile come our turn. The unit lost its movement point after attacking as it has only one move. So we can still kill the unit (and recapture lost unit if our attacking unit is also a Shadow Warrior)

One think I just realize after reading about the new patch and also from my turns. There is no road bonus for desert square. That means we can't build road on desert. Which means no one will have access to saltpeter and oil in the desert! :eek:

Looks like we are in for a long ancient war and whoever get Knight first will kick ass big time against Spearman. :D

However, that is still another problem....oil will be scarse as we will have no access to oil in desert as well! :eek: And if Tundra also has no road bonus then no access to oil on Tundra as well. And that means only one thing, no tank and modern armor! Its going to be fun slugging in out with Infantries and Artillery! Woohoo! :lol:

DarkSheer: are you sure you used a version of the mod where there still was a bonus on desert???????

about the amry - forgot they loose the raod bonus - ****! Still, not too bad, meldor!
 
yep, I know, but does DS3 have one I meant? I am at turn No 17, and can't check, all roads on desert (which we have none of) might be older than the patch!
 
preturn: 290 AD - why are there so many elites fortified in the south?

move 'em! :lol: I want Perisa off our lands - i.e. I want to take Antioch

so we can easily contain Persia on the isthmus near Persian watcher, and I

want to hit all northern civs asap, as long as we can effectively use

shadow warriors. they'll have a hard time against Pikemen, so we better

hurry!

some excessive trading (gems, 1170 Gold, Map and Literature to France for

Montheism + Feudalism), selling some old techs to everyone who has money.

Thebes starts Sun Tzus :D

a quick look at the map schows that neither Hamburg nor Moscow have the

necessary production to complete the War Academy before we do - so we will

probably get Sun Tzus YEEEEEEEEHA!

(4)=330 AD - will produce enough Shadow Warriors to move stacks of 5 into

enemy territory to blockade resources.

(5)=340 AD - moves

(6)=350 AD - moves. 1st team of 5 Shaodw Warriors heads of Aztec iron.

(7)=360 AD - moves. Order some Libraries and Cathedral where needed to

prop up science and especaially culture.

(8)=370 AD - passing by, our Shadow Warriors show the Aztec capital

defended by Spearmen - I attack, win win loss win win - and the town is

now defended by a Worker!!!!!! WTH?????

(9)=380 AD - still no defender visible in Tenochtitlan - and it dawns on

me, SW is 3.2.1, so there's SW defending the town!!!! ****!

(10)=390 AD - ROP with France, they give World Map for it :D (they asked

for it!). Horsie defends against Shadow Warrior attack

Take Tula without losses, 4 workers. Horsemen concentrated in Bactra

whioch build Barracks for mass upgrade to knights

(11)=400 AD - our resource denial team has reached free space near

Calixtuawhatever and starts to heal. will go for the iron then, cut it,

then attack the next city if it doesn't have Pikes for defenders.

move SW towards Tzintzunzen.
Science upped, Chivalry in 6 turns with -12 gpt (60%)

(12)=410 AD - one of our SW near Aztec iron killed by SW attack. The

Aztecs can see our SW, they move workers into Tzintzuntzen :mad:

attack tzintzunzen and nearly get a heart attack, the first attacking SW

looses HP after Hp.... but wins trough and gets promoted.
The town is ours.
 
(13)=420 AD - Russia sends a 2 spear combo in, declare war - OK :D
We ROP with Aztecs, ally with France for map, 530 Gold (ouch) and wines.

(14)=430 AD - Russia buy Persia into the war with France. Goos thing our

blockade is strong - there may be war with Persia soon. Chivalry sped up

at -96 per turn. WLTKD where it isn't already - love wars :D
Rostov taken by SWs (that were on the way anyway LOL)

(15)=440 AD - bought Barracks in Tula, moved 11 Horsemen there. Chivalry

next turn :D kill SW near Bactra

(16)=450 AD - Japan has been destroyed. Persia pay 30 Gold and World Map

(17)=460 AD - French start Sist Chap. - we might try to outrace them

still, but it is probably useless becasue they must be claso to finishing

SunTzus (which we will(!) get in 6). The Russians have taken Teotihuacan,

there's a Pikeman in it. Will send Knights there, SW to take SW defended

kill one of Malinalcos defenders with SW. Science to 0.

(18)=470 AD - Xerxes the Idiot cancels the deal for Spices, we loose our

ivory. Well, 2:1 is too much!

Switch Elephantine to Forbidden Palace. Reason: good place for it, then we

can jump the Palace via leader to the northern half of the island. That

way, we can consolidate territory wins from the Russian war quickly. WE

should go up to the Frankfurt-Bremen line at least, take all Russians,

maybe kill off Germany, then turn on what remains of the Aztecs.

We luck out, the SW who attacked Malinalco last turn has been promoted and

now takes the city on his last HP!

We take Calixtahuaca loosing 1 SW and kill a third SW next to it (by

accident)

(19)=480 AD - Aztecs start Sistine. A wroker (BUG!!!!) attacks our SW near

calixt. and dies. The missing Indian Galley is seen near Rostov.

Our troops approach Teotihuacan, will take it next turn.

(29)=490 AD - we survive a Persian and an unknown SW attack.
Teotihuacan taken, two defenders, no losses.




general state: we are very good in military power, being the only to have

Knights. That should stay so, DO NOT SELL CHIVALRY!!!!!

If possible, use SWs to take Stuttgart and as much of Aztecia as possible.

Thwe Knights adn the SW army should suffice to advance to the

Bremen-Frankfurt line. There will be a leader I hope, rush Palace in

Frankfurt or take Berlin and rush Palace there!. If so, finish off

Germany entirely. Keep going as long as our military is goo, maybe we can

then grab Sixtinian Chapel off France.

Sun Tzus is around the corner, remember not to build Barracks!

Do not let culture fall, as soon as possible restict military production

in the south and build Libraries! Then universities and cathedrals!

Ok got it.. and the no cd patch is finially out..

Though i just wanna say "Thanks to firaxis" stupid bastards. I had to reinstall my OS for a perticular reason, and now civ3 wont run because "its not registered"

We'll see if it runs with the no cd patch.. if it doesn't.. i will post back because im not going to spend the next hour or so reinstalling this stupid game before i goto work.

Luanched 3 SW's with 4 in reserve and a few more on the way against Tex (new aztec capitol) You should be able to capture it next turn.

Gun Powder in 2 turns, just keep B-lining for Military Tradition. DO NOT BOTHER WITH ANY OTHER TECHS unless you buy them. We need CALAVARY ASAP!

Also i have several galley's making there way around the souther tip. Try and get them around to scout out that landmass to the West as quickly as possible.

I'm sure you did everything right, DarkSheer, but the game is not working as it should, also on submarines (another thread OTed to that).
