I use a dual-monitor system at home and was wondering if anyone here had any information about what "supports dual-monitor" means. Is the game split while in full-screen? Or are we talking a "windowed" mode? Or does it just mean I can alt-tab as per normal?

Anyone? Or do I just have to wait till tomorrow and see? ;)

I suppose it could potentially mean that you could look at two diff. things at once. Hell, I've been eyeing a 2nd monitor(since my card supports 2), and I gotta say even something as simple as an always-open civlopedia or statistics screen would be nice. Not sure what it means though *shrug*

Yes it does; I don't remember where I read that though. :) Edit: I see you wanted more. My guesstimate is that the information is split.

That's what I'm hoping for. I'm *terrible* at these games :crazyeye: , but I love them nonetheless. I need every piece of in game reference possible :goodjob:

now does this mean you can have two regular monitors or two linked monitors? linked monitors are what you comonly see in arcades in racing games where theres like a 3 screen display, that requires special graphics cards, however cards that support more then one display (like the explorer stops on one screen) are different

Dual-screen in Civ should be something like this: The normal screen on the main monitor, with the advisor/information screens on the other.

I'm looking forward to it!

The only Dual-Monitor screen I have seen is from Solver's Preview, on Apolyton:

I have 2 monitors, each using a different graphics card. One card is pretty good, while the other is crap. So if I do split screen, will it lag on one monitor and not the other? Because they would be kind of funny.

[20:20] <+FIRAXIS_Trip> Dual Monitors - you run in windowed mode and give it a custom resolution to cover both screens

nvidia drivers support this horizontal span mode.

I think it will help if your territory covers a large area. That way you don't have to pan and zoom as much...
