Dubbed, Or Subtitled?

  • Dubbed. I don't wanna make the extra effort to read while watching a movie.:smug:

It all depends on what is being dubbed; for instance, comedy and action should always be dubbed; imagine everyones favorite tokyo monster, the great Godzilla, going on his rampage in lower japan with sub titles...

On the other hand, drama should always be subtitled...

I'd much rather have subtitles, it's very irritating to have to watch all those excellent French or American movies on German TV overdubbed (with the exception of movies that are actually German of course). I'd wish they would subtitle Dutch or Flemish movies too btw, because I'm so used to reading subtitles I sometimes have trouble hearing what they are saying, even if it's my own language...

Subtitles, unless it is animated.

However, I have a feeling Anime fans wouldn't appreciate that. Each to their own taste, which is why I like DVDs :D

I watched Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon subbed. For a second I turned it on to dubbing, and it was awful. Corny, hopeless, unemotional.

Subtitled. I hate it when it is dubbed. Looked so unrealistic.
