Duplicate Icons

They look nice to me.

I'm working on corporate icons now. I want to get the atlas for guild/corporate icons completed and update the XML files to use the atlases rather than individual buttons. I think organizing all the buttons into atlases will make the mod load faster.

There are two styles of executive icons in the mod: the earlier "man with corp logo briefcase" and the "man in front of corp logo". I'd like to standardize on the "corp logo briefcase", so here is a new icon for Adventure Tours Executive.

Big McDowell's needs a different executive and a button for the restaurant. I'm choosing to go with the example of Sid's Sushi Restaurant and base it off the Convention Center icon.

Burgerworld needs an HQ icon (it is currently using the same icon for the corporation itself and the HQ) and a restaurant icon. The HQ icon is tougher to make then it seems. The NIF file for the corporate HQ building doesn't have the same color scheme as the icon (it looks darker and less-detailed). I did some copy-and-paste work to get this right.

Bullseye just needs a store icon and a better executive icon. I'm basing Bullseye (and will base MallWart as well) off the Shopping District.

In thinking about it a little more, I think I want to use a Supermarket icon as the base for Bullseye Store rather than a Shopping District. Shopping District is going to get used a lot, and I don't want to overuse it. Also, Bullseye Store is going to be a Supermarket upgrade, so that makes a more fitting icon.

So this is Bullseye Store.

East West Traders Store, Emperors Clothing Store, and Fashion House Store all get icons based on the Shopping District. I think we will be able to tell which is which by the corporate icon in the bottom right corner; these are about the same size as the existing icons for Corporate Stores like Creative Constructions Contractors. I don't think these buildings are going to upgrade from Shopping District. I have to look a little more.

And then East West Traders and Emperors Clothing need better Executives.

I finally finished making all the extra corporation icons we need and assembling them into an atlas. I still have to do the XML work, but that's not nearly as tough.

MallWart needs new executive and store icons.

MileHigh gets a new executive icon. I already posted the new MileHigh Franchise icon.

Mobby Meats needs a store. Like some of the other ones, I used the Food Processing Plant.

MoonBeam Coffee needs an executive and a store. I looked really hard to find a good one, but the best I could find is the Adventurer's Guild from Fall from Heaven 2.

Red Curtains Theatres is getting a new icon, so it needs to replace all its other icons. I was able to do the Corporate HQ by copying the logo and using a shear tool on it to paste over the Aluminum Co HQ logo. This was one reason for making the new Red Curtains logo the same shape as Aluminum Co.

And the last. Safari Hunters gets a new exec and a better HQ. The previous HQ looked very tacked-together.

Ultimate Soldiers needs a better HQ and a button for its Trainer. I used my Combat Simulator as a base for the trainer. Both Safari Hunters and Ultimate Soldiers HQ were re-made by copying the logo, shearing it, and pasting it over Cereal Mills.

Wonka Confectionaries just needs a store. I decided to use Shopping District as the base.

Finally, I made buttons to use for the generic "Can Construct Corporate HQ" and "Can Construct Corporate Store" on the F6 screen. I think this is the only place where these buttons appear. I used the briefcase from the main Civ4 interface. I grabbed it off a screenshot.

I think those buttons look rather good. :)

I'm trying to find a good button for Artists' Guild (the regular building, not the corporation). In the meantime, how does this look for Doctor's Office? It's currently being used for the Arabic Medicine tech in RFC Europe. If this doesn't look good, I'll post the Infirmary instead.

As I imagine it, it's rather a building than actually an office.
And the picture saying that it is rather an office than a building ;D
If it is building maybe it should be something like moonbean store in post #166, but with some cross maybe. Just small one floor building, quite approprite for that era.

That icon looks rather indistinct, Vokarya. The light grey bottles against the pale blue bottle have rotten contrast.

This is a button I found in the Renaissance buttons pack. It is named Occulus in the pack. I think it would be good to use for Artists Guild.

This is the original Academy button (in vanilla Civ4, no expansions). It was replaced by the current icon in Warlords. I was thinking we could use this for Plato's Academy.

This is the Infirmary button (in a couple of mods). I was thinking it would be a good choice for the Doctor's Office.

They all look good to me. The last one looks better to me for doctor's office

Oculus should only have one C, but otherwise those three look good!

That's just the file name in the pack. I'm organizing all the buttons into atlases, so the file names will never show up. Atlases are supposed to make the mod load faster. I'm doing a comprehensive rebuild of the FPK's, so I'm doing this as part of the process.

About filenames I think we still have a Ressources XML file somewhere, thanks to dbkblk. :)

I really like these.
The new D's O button is especially a good choice as it looks similar to the current one.

AND will be soooo shiny

Knight's Stable and National Courier System are currently using the same button as Stable. I went looking through a lot of mods and button packs to find horse-related buttons that I think we could use.

I think this is the best one I can find for National Courier Service. It is taken from the PAE's Ancient Europe mod and is used as a Horse Breeding building.

This is another one I thought would be usable for NCS, but I think it is a little too busy.
View attachment 405786

I think this is the best button for Knight's Stable. I don't really like the name Knight's Stable, as Knights won't be around for another era. However, I like Stirrup as a tech and it needs something other than the Heavy Horseman. The only other name I can come up with is Farriers, which is too much of a textbook word. (Also, I don't like Stable giving XP too early -- it breaks my paradigm that very early units shouldn't be eligible for XP right out of the gate -- but that is another topic.)
View attachment 405781

Some other possible icons I found are the Chivalry tech from RFC Europe; the alternate Stable art from Fairy Tale; the Cavalry Tactics tech, also from Fairy Tale; and the Horse Husbandry tech from PAE's Ancient Europe.

Here is another building button. This is for the Fisherman's Hut (currently sharing the same art as Viking Trading Post). It is taken from the Multiverse mod's Smoke House.

View attachment 405787

This is another possible alternative, but not quite as good. It is the Early Fishing button from Stone Age.
