Duplicate Icons

Cryonics almost always means freezing after death with intent to resuscitate. What if we just shorten it to Cryoprison? I feel it fits the style of the Transhuman Era to use these crammed-together words.

The very last normal building (not a National Wonder or World Wonder) that needs a replacement icon is Voting Link. It's sharing a button with Zurich-Orbital Uplink.

I think this is the best icon I have found. It is used for Computers in Mars, Now.

This is used in Mars Now as well. It is used there for a First Contact to Earth wonder (representing re-establishing a communications link to Earth).

Go for Cryoprison, why not?

I think the Computers icon could work well. It's quite dark, but the white bits help to draw it out a bit. I like the Internet icon too.

Here's another one I want to share. I'm going to assemble the remaining loose building buttons into an atlas before I start working on the National Wonders. There are many of them that need new buttons.

In the meantime, I think this is a good button for the Technological Capital. Currently, Biological Warfare Lab, Cloning Laboratory, Space Laboratory, and Technological Capital are all sharing the same button. Bio War Lab can keep the original, and I've already shown the replacement button for Clone Lab. I will find another button for Space Lab.

I realized that I skipped District Courthouse because I think of it as a pseudo-National Wonder. I made a new icon we can use for Supreme Court and then use the existing Supreme Court for District Courthouse.

I think these buttons are less recognizable than the one I posted previously. The higher contrast makes it easy to identify as a shipyard and I think the bright yellow also plays into the "construction" theme.

I like the 2nd one the most. It is recognizable enough but doesn't look so weird as the ones when yellow is turned on.

Again, I vote for the 2nd (internet). That one reminds me the most for voting and information transfering. The 1st one is okay too.

Nanite spy: Why don't you just use a regular unit background? Would that look bad?

I finished assembling all the building icons into atlases. It took one entire atlas plus a third of a second atlas. Now I'm getting ready to do National Wonders.

Cement Mill was using the same building art definition as Factory. I found someone had uploaded a separate Cement Works that we can use.

I'm trying to make a button based on those two small silos. I think that would be easy to identify. I tried the desert background but it didn't look that great. I'll try something else next.

Here are some icons I found that would work for Deep Space Research Institute.

This is the one I like best. It is used as an Astrometrics tech in Star Trek II.

This is second-best. It is a "Found City" button in Final Frontier.

This is the last one. It is the Astrogation button from NextWar. Whoever made the original button didn't bother to add the proper alpha channel, so the button is square whenever it's imported into another mod.

First Nuclear Test needs a new button too. I like this one. It is used for a Warhead Delivery tech in Realism Invictus. They use the Manhattan Project icon for their First Nuclear Test.

I'm trying to solve Edison's Workshop and National Sports League. Edison is currently sharing a button with Leonardo's Workshop and National Sports League is using the same button as Zero-G Sports Arena.

I came up with a few potential buttons for Edison based around light bulbs. I want a bulb where the filament is clearly visible. I think I like the third or last one the best but I'm not sure of the background on the last. It makes the base of the bulb blur into the background. I used the Starfield pattern from GIMP.

For National Sports League, I think a logo-type button would work. This is the best I can come up with so far. I don't want to use a real league's logo and I don't to use a particular sport. If anyone has a suggestion from another game, I'd be happy to see it.

They look ok to me and I agree on your opinions on the bulbs. I think I like the third one a bit more.

I love the NBA NSL button too
If you want to improve it maybe make a bit more "NBA-ish" by fliping red and blue and making blue a bit lighter.

Rubber Plant needs a separate button for the moment. I'm contemplating some radical surgery on the Industrial Era that may obviate the need for having a separate Rubber Plant, but that is going to wait until after I finish all of these changes.

This one is used for the Rubber Plant in VIP. Every time I look at VIP, I feel like I'm looking at a very incomplete version of AND. For example, it has a lot of the technologies that I got rid of for being unable to meet the two-trick threshold.

The last National Wonder buttons we need are the buttons for the three Kemetism national wonders. I don't think I could get a head icon to work with a decent enough resolution. So I picked some icons from Gods of Old and combined them with the existing Temple of Mut icon.

Let me know if you think these are good enough. The icons are in the upper-left corner because that is where the original Egyptian Ankh is. I don't think these icons need both the ankh and the divine symbol.

One more button. I'm really trying to get buildings done at this point. We need a button for Diplomatic Mission. Even though it's currently disabled, I expect it to be re-enabled at some point.

I think I like this one best. I pulled it out of RFC Europe.
