Early release of BTS?!?

guys USA typically gets new releases on Monday, Europe is usually on Friday (just in time for the weekend, sos we don't miss work or school to play games)

The Us really should adopt the same so that there is a single release date world wide. They have produced the stock already, why not give everyone access at the same time... esp since the advent of bittorent...

 If you haven't noticed, the U.S. doesn't like to play by the international rules. Hell, we're still measuring length by the size of a King's foot...

Actually if i remember Conquests for civ3 in Australia came out for $29.99 AUD and it was the second expansion too! Maybe this will be a cheapie?? heheh that would be awesome!

Why are we talking like there is some confusion in the price? You can already order the thing at all the usual Australian internet game shops. The prices are there in black and white for anyone that can read.

Why are we talking about price at all! This is an expansion pack to the greatest game of all time and not some cheap hooker.

Bravo!

BtS is not a prostitute! It's set to be the XP of XP's! Maybe we're a tad bored of waiting and discussing features, but theres only a week to go now!

Rince
Even if it's the most classy, beautiful, lovely, smart and expensive hooker, you still want the cheapest pimp don't you?

Maybe it's just plain pre-release stress ;)

I'm still surprised it's in stock on Play.com, I wouldn't be too shocked if some people who pre-ordered it get it on Wednesday.

I hope it comes out on Friday here in Canada, since i cannot wait 1 more weekend without the game.

Well its all starting to turn pear shaped....

I rung the store today to see if I could pick it up early ().

They still have the ETA as tomorrow (for sale), but they dont have stock yet. Unless it arrives this afternoon, they cant actually sell it to me :(

But in saying that - it is definetely 100% Beyond the Sword, and not the gold edition, and they stick to their story that the system has a 'sale date' of the 18th.

Will keep you updated.

I went to a local computer games store, and enquired on the release date, and the guy had never even heard of it. I think I'll try a bigger store ;)

I bought Civ Chronicles (Civ1/2/3/4 + cardgame) for a bit less than AU$50 (€29,95), so I'd doubt an expansion would cost that price.
But mind you, I ordered it online, I didn't go to the shop (where it was €50,- ~AU$75,-).
Ok. I'm refering to shop price. Expansions in Australia are usually AU$50 on release. The comment about Civ3 Conquests being AU$30 blows me away actually. I wonder whether that was a shop or online price.

Yep, in Australia (Sydney) they confirmed it as being the 18th. He did say that it would most likely be on the shelves and ready for sale by lunchtime-ish thursday (19th). I'm going in to harrass them for an early copy tomorrow late afternoon to see :) (This is EB, I might add.)

Another update:

I rung a different store (yes - this is EB as per the post above) and they said they would be getting stock tomorrow morning (as in Wednesday 18th) - so I'm going to ring them tomorrow and possibly pick it up (fingers crossed).

Game, the store in the UK still says 20th.

Bad news for aussies, i checked with my local eb, i know the manager and he said maybe thursday (19th) at the earliest as their head office hasn't recieved the stock as yet. Heres hoping he's wrong. oops Wattiggi has already got the info.

I hope no one is going to think of downloading an illegal copy of BtS. I certainly won't touch it if it is there. Firaxis deserve the money for their great Civ software.

As for release dates...Amazon UK has stuck to its 20th release date, which sounds great to me! :D

Not even if they have already preordered it, but wants to play it as soon as possible?

It's just a question, by the way. I'm not implying anything. Seriously, I'm not.

I would strongly urge anyone who did preorder not to mess with illegal copies. You never know what you are going to get in the way of spyware or viruses. Plus, it's just not a good thing to do in general.

What makes you think a person won't pay for the game if they DL a copy of it a few days early?
