Earth 192x120

So does anybody know how to get this map to play in multiplayer? And can someone tell me how i could add in all the "Next War" units, buildings, and techs into the Carter Earth Mod, AND how to change the map (like with world builder), and still have it usable in multiplay. (Yes i know that everyone playing would have to have exact copies of the changed files.)
 
I have a problem. When I try to start the game, and the loading window appears (BTS 3.17), windows xp tells me that an error has occured with civ and closes the program.
 
I've been trying to get this to load in with the latest/final patch 3.19 on vista, but CIV crashes each time I try to load the mod. Is there a way to make it compatible with BTS 3.19.

Im hopping that someone could convert this fine mapmod to BTS 3.19 since Carter isnt active here much more.

I think all you need is a new .dll file. I'm going to try making one, but I don't know yet if it'll work (I know next to nothing about sdk stuff). Wish me luck.
 
Well, I tried downloading the stuff I need to compile the .dll and it didn't work. I'm really not keen on blowing another several hours trying to download the Microsoft SDK again, either. However, there may be another way.

I could try merging Carter's mod with RevDCM. That would be the easiest way to get 32 civs right now. The problem is that it would include some functions that some people might not want. It's possible to make it so that you'll only be playing Carter's mod with Better BTS AI and BUG, with the other features remaining optional if you want them. What does everyone think?

Yes with all the features included in original BTS. I think that by adding to many mods into one you somewhere mess up the gameplay. I played most worldmapmods and the most advanced always seem to at some point give me CTD or strange AI gameplay.

Currently I only play the original 18players map included in civ4 vanilla but loaded with BTS. The games are very fun and competetiv (diety/marathon) but I miss having more civs in the maps.
 
If I download this, will it work with BTS 3.19? The OP claims it works with all versions, but I'm unsure if he updated it of not?

No. But I'm going to have another go at making a new .dll file. I don't really play Carter's mod, but I do play Giant Earth Map, and since they both need new .dlls, I figured I'll try to kill two birds with one stone.

It's not going to happen, I'm afraid. I still can't get it to work, and the time has come for me to say it's not worth the effort I've put in to trying to make it so. I *could* still merge it with RevDCM but that doesn't seem to be the most popular option...
 
If I understand correctly the only thing that was changed on the .dll was the MAX_CIVS in civdifines.h.

I think that any problems in loading the map are in the XML files. There are a couple that are significantly different (aside from added content) from 3.19 files.
 
Hey guys, can someone provide me a big pictures of the whole map (I mean, a really big picture, really zoomed in if possible) with that grid option on and fully visible.

I'm trying to transport the map to another great game, Roblox, but I don't have CIV 4 installed in this computer that I'll be using for another month and, even if I had, it wouldn't stand the MOD.

I'll credit the person who helps me.

As some of you may know, phugus420 made a 50 cix .dll a while ago. Since no one else seems to be doing it, I'm updating Carter's maps (all of them) to work with patch 3.19. Only thing is, the maps are crashing when I try to load them. I probably made a mistake along the way, but I fear that there may be something beyond my ken causing this problem. I'll check them over tonight and hopefully upload them tomorrow.

I'll be responding to messages when I get a chance (for anyone who's still interested...some are quite old now) but for now I just wanted to let you know I am working on an update for 3.19 (quite a few small changes and fixes) and it should be done very soon....until then I can confirm that any 3.19 .dll with enough civs should work with the last version (though I think you'll need lots of ram for more than 32 civs...my pc isn't very slow but still can't do more than 32).

Sweet. I still need some advice from someone who is experienced with this kind of stuff though... I recently downloaded the Quot Capita mod, (which is great) but was disapointed that no earth maps were included with it. What I'd like to do, is play on this map, using the QC mod. Is this possible? If so, how? Thanks!:goodjob:
