You missed the point.

Instead of getting an empire in the Middle East, Russia got a revolution. Serbia failed to become a hegemonic power and eventually - although this is not by any means attributable to the First World War - became weaker than she had been in 1914. France lost her Russian alliance to the Bolshevik revolution. And Britain failed to preserve her overseas empire, and in many ways the First World War made that empire weaker.
