Eiffel Tower and no forge?

If I build the Eiffel Tower (which requires a Forge) and no forge exists in the city in which the tower is built, what happens? Do all the benefits disappear?

If I build the forge in that city after the Eiffel Tower is built, do I get all the benefits back?

You only need the forge to Build the Eiffel Tower. It has no effect on if it works or not.

So I just need Forge technology to build the Eiffel Tower? If I don't have a forge in the city, it doesn't matter?

No you need the Forge building to build the Eiffel tower, once the Tower is complete, losing the forge building does not matter (just like your Swordsmen continue to work if you lose your iron, but you can't build any more)

Well, I didn't have a Forge building and it built the Eiffel Tower but when the notice came up after I built the Tower, "Forge needed" was in red, so I was wondering why that happened.

Or you had already started building a forge in that city. (that counts as built, at least in the case of aquaeducts for the hanging gardens)? And when these hammers disappeared with the time, you got the message that you now need a forge....
