To be honest IMO Civ OT is nothing but a daycare for the mods. Outside of it I don't see the problems like I do in OT. It's due to this that I very rarely ever step into OT, though after I do, I tend to quickly jump out.
Exactamundo!I have to agree with this and frankly it is not the posters themselves that is in a daycare but it is the mods interferences on a regular basis that make it into a daycare center.
Out of curiosity, statistically-wise what is the percentage of mod activity in OT compared to the rest of CFC?
Good question. What is the comparison of Civ OT vs the rest on the activity of moderator interferences?
I still don't see how it's more power for the Mods. It's the same power, just better organized and provides more information.
You don't see how it is more power for you and the others and then you say that better organizational tools and information? It seems that you are just saying how it isn't beneficial to you and then state that it is.
The new system has nothing to do with the rules, they have not changed. It sounds as if you have a bigger issue to deal with.
Of course i have a issue with it or i wouldn't be here stating that i had a bigger issue about it.
It even states in the forum rules:
Your rights to Freedom of Speech don't apply here.
You are welcome to have opinions. You are welcome to question certain subject matter posted on these forums.
Yep and thanks for reminding me.
You are welcome to dislike a certain post or disagree with it.
I never said or commented about "certain posts" or "disagreeing with it."
Though we typically condone people to express their opinions and ideas,
Interesting. Please explain why you say that one time that it is ok to express yourself freefully and then a few post later say that
we(i guess "we" is what your inferring to as the "mods") "typically condone people their opinion and ideas?
we have the right to delete yours if necessary, should we consider it abusive.
This statement inspires me to ask you 2 question which i suspect have never been raised before.
1.Is it true that whenever an "abuse" occur, someone who is abused cries to you guys and ask if you can punish or investigate the so-called perpetrator of whatever if the abuse did indeed happen?
2.Is it true that whenever what you think an "abuse" is being made, you guys react without asking the person who is subject of the abuse if he or she is abused?
That won't come to pass. It would be elitist at the very least, and very easily lead to trolling and flame wars.
How can you figure? It does nothing to do with elitism and flame and trolling. It give the threadstarter the option to be its own moderator. If someone goes out of hand in the subject that is being discussed, let the thread starter moderate.
Not to mention more spam as people create threads in which to not allow others to post in.
Have you guys experimented with this?Allow thread makers to be their own boss.I know that i find it annoying when i open a thread or in a thread and don't care about the person making so-called flame and troll comments and all of the sudden...BAM!... you guys come out of nowhere and attack them without asking me if i want that person to be removed or kept in the discussion.
If someone's posts bother you, put them on your ignore list and/or ignore their threads.
Nobody bothers me but only the mods that do but i can't ignore you guys.
@CartesianFart - If you feel that your right of free speech and freedom are being impeded, you shld, of course, go to another forum where they are being respected. Or set up one yourself.
I did try going to another site but it is too late because i have already gotten attached to my fellow friends in Civ OT.It is too much of an readjustment to find new ones in other sites when i am quite fond and invested alot of time sharing and learning from others in Civ OT.
You know what?I consider this "abusing."
