In my current game, (I'm Russia, Catherine, prince level, all victory conditions on), I'm in 2-3 place, on a continent with only myself and Arabia. Its around 1000 AD. Arabia attacked me, and I have now eliminated all but one of his cities.

What are the pros and cons of wiping him out now? Is there a disadvantage--ie, will other civs now hate me? Is there any advantage to letting him survive? I'm interested in any and all opinions.

No penalties unless you raze a holy city or they are good friends with another civ - take them out. You need time to get cottages, banks and courthouses running in those new Arabian cities so that you can win the game. Use Forbidden Palaace placement well.

Want to wipe him out?

Pros :
- He won't bug you anymore.
- He won't be there to try and turn the other AIs against you.

Cons :
- You won't get free techs you might be able to negiciate by signing a peace treaty.
- You won't have anymore trading partners on your continent.
