Maria Theresa (15+1)=16 I think she should return if Austria is brought back, she can be portrayed younger as opposed to as a old woman.

Nebuchadnezzar II 24
Pacal 22
Pachacuti 20
Ramesses II 22

Gajah Mada 26 + 1 = 27 (We are in sore need of more SEA representation, and this guy's story is legendary. Also, we need more chubby leaders.)

William 6 - 3 = 3 (Maurice of Nassau or some other Dutch leader would work, but for the purposes of this thread, Netherlands are not a priority for inclusion in a crowded Euro-centric Civ VI, and William is hardly the most compelling leader, though he is clearly one of the Netherlands' most important leaders.)

Genghis Khan (26+1)=27 He's basically the face of Mongolia in Civ. He made the Mongols famous by starting the process which led to the Mongol Empire, though it split among his descendants. Hire a cool sounding Mongolian speaker to give him the voice he deserves.

Enrico Dandolo 19
Gajah Mada 24
Genghis Khan 27
Gustavus Adolphus 25+1=26 - Sweden is an interresting Civ, and this man was one of the greatest Swedish kings. He was also a military mastermind who practically invented modern warfare.

Maria Theresa (16+1)=17 My only choice for an Austrian leader, having her in the game doesn't mean Hungary or Bohemia cannot be added as separate Civs, the Civ5 Austrian city-list only included towns in Austria
Napoleon 17
Nebuchadnezzar II 24
Pacal (22-3)=19 To be honest, I'm sick of Pacal representing the Maya. Give me a female Mayan warrior-Queen and I'll be sold, Firaxis!
Pachacuti 20
Ramesses II 22
Sejong 23
Shaka 26
Suleiman 23
Wu Zetian 16

Ahmad al-Mansur 16+1=17 - I'm not against the return of Morocco. He was quite successful Sultan, and he conquered Songhai, which would make some interresting scenario.
Ashurbanipal 27
Augustus Caesar 18
Bismarck 17
Catherine 22
Elizabeth 9-3=6 - Since we already have England focused on navy and colonies, she probably wouldn't bring anything new except some scenario where she would compete with Philip II.

Gajah Mada 24
Genghis Khan 27
Gustavus Adolphus 26
Harun al-Rashid 18
Kamehameha 23
Maria Theresa 17 - @Guandao, I just realised that if we have England resembling the English colonial empire, Australia, USA and India in one game, Austria resembling the Habsburg Monarchy shouldn't be such great obstacle for an independent Bohemia. However, I agree that Maria Theresa would be the best choice to represent Austria, but why not her son Joseph II or Franz Joseph I? Both were quite popular and competent leaders.

Sejong (23-3)=20 I would like an earlier ruler to represent Korea first for Civ6, like Seondeok of Silla.
Shaka 26
Suleiman 23
Wu Zetian (16+1)=17 I don't trust Firaxis to portray another male emperor in a different way from Qin (not too crazy about Yongle Emperor :p, cause what's great about his reign is Zhang He, plus his legacy wasn't continued by his dumb successors). Wu is worthy of returning, with a better voice actor speaking the same kind of Mandarin that they gave to Qin.

Sejong (20+1)=21 There's a golden opportunity to put a science and great people-related leader bonus into the game. A king invented a written language. Not out of nowhere but after dissecting human vocal systems he made one that is phonetically precise with modern linguistics. That's how much of a big deal it is.
Shaka 26
Suleiman 23
Wu Zetian (17-3)=14 Out of all leaders to represent China, Emperors, Generals and Modern politicians, Wu Zetian is not it.

Haile Selassie 2 - 3 = ELIMINATED Ethiopia needs pre-colonial leaders.

By pre-colonial you mean pre-19th Century colonialism? Because it was during his reign that Ethiopia was able to hold off the imperial rule of the West... as the sole country in Africa to resist colonization.
Sure Ethiopia got invaded by fascists, but his diplomatic skills later liberated his country by siding with the Allies. His diplomatic foresight in the post-WW2 world is what drove him into the United Nations to begin with. If anyone deserves a +1 Diplomacy slot Germany-style or Greece-Style it would be this guy. Sad to see him out so fast.

That script in question is now the most common script in both Koreas, after being suppressed for much of Korean history (and especially under Japanese occupation; to the Koreans, katakana is an extremely poor substitute for Hangul when it comes to writing Korean).

Hangul (Sejong's invention) wasn't really suppressed before Japanese occupation, it just wasn't popular with the ruling class. The elite preferred Chinese written language (Hanja in Korean).
Thing is, newspapers were written in half Chinese written language up until the 80's in South Korea... that's how much Koreans value the Hanja tradition despite they can technically write everything in Hangul.

Enrico Dandolo 19 + 1 = 20 (While Venice is not a priority, I'm upvoting this man simply due to his iconic status as a historical figure. He should appear in the game in some form, as he's more compelling than the Genoese leaders Firaxis might look to use instead of Venice in Civ VI.)
