About 3 days ago, I got an email from a place called "neopets"
This is the latest fad at school. It's where you have imaginary pets and you try to feed them by beating other people in games or something (I dunno but whatever it is it's stupid and i got an email from it).
Anyways, I got a validation fort this place. Yet I didn't sign up. It had a screen name from an internet cartoon my friend likes and gave me the password he gave me at his forum, and it was too swear words. Except it wasn't for him it was for me
Now I know who this is. To confirm it I'm going so ask him at school today to confirm cause I might want to take some legal action or any action because HE USED MY EMAIL TO SIGN UP FOR SOMETHING.
Can I sue? Should I?

Here's the email I got.

You'll get about five yards. Sueing over an email? How much would you expect to earn? Probably *not* over some small amount. Plus, an 11-year old sueing another 11 year old - not too likely.

well are there any legal actions I can take? cause this really pissed me off.
BTW, GA, the guy who I think sent thsi is the Troy324 guy we almost banned

Nothing you can do except click the remove account link. Oh, and you email address is still in the link at the bottom of the quote ;)

Are you seriously thinking about suing him over something as small as an email?! Usually people sue over defective products, collisions, etc...but not stuff related to emails..anyway, interesting.

Here's something MUCH easier. Tell his parents. ;) They need to take responsibility for their kid.

Is there any possibility this email isn't really from Neopets? Just go to Neopets and deactivate the account. You could also report the fraud to Neopets.

Perhaps you should stop giving out your friends phone numbers to potential paedophiles and they will stop signing you up for stuff like this. I think what you did was much worse and if you can't take them getting their own back you shouldn't pull stunts on them.

Sue them? Are you little girl?
Tell their parents? Boo Hoo! :p

Get your mates together (or become friends with a crowbar) and break his legs ;)

I didn'tgive him my email adress. ALl he knows about me online is that I have my own forum and that I'm LLXerxes. I dunno how he found my email adress but I suspect it's the llxerxes part.
Little girl? Ok fine. I'll sign up for every forum Ican and use your email ANd I can sign you up for other stuff. WOuld you like it? Makes ya wanna take legal actions don't it?
Boo hoo? WTH are you talking about. THis is SERIOUS. It's not a laughing matter.

BTW, today at school he denied it.

Cool! I haven't been to Neopets in a long time! They certainly changed it...

On-topic: Go onto Neopets, using his username, and start pranking him, and since password recovery is done via email, you control the file. Just wait until he gets a good file... then...

Alright this is getting scary and serious.
I've been signed up for 4 new things. I am starting to doubt it was Troy, because with all these new happenings, it could be anybody. Especially somebody who goesto some fora I go to (the purpotrator could go here)
This is gettting scary and serious. Somebody, help me. I need ways to protect myself from tis

Take the files?

He can't get into your email account, can he?

You want to get him back? Okay, but you can't blame me if something negative results here. The safest thing, maybe the only idea that won't get you injured (if you know the prankster), is to change your e-mail. A hassle, but if only the people that really need it know it then you shouldn't get this stuff. My evil idea :satan2: :

The e-mails should include login information. Log in and do something to his account. Annoy this Troy guy until you get some sign of who he is, an e-mail is what you're really looking for (if it's not him, they'll admit later when you mess around with their accounts.) Change the e-mail back to the prankster's. Throw in some annoying pranks, too. Maybe (after changing the e-mail button of course) his the forgot password button a dozen times or so. Of course you could report him, too. But as a ruler of his account, you have absolute power over their neopets world, or wherever else.

No need to sue. You'd probably lose more money than you gained if you won.

This is what happens when children are allowed to access webforums MIRC and messenger programs without parental supervision. Learn a lesson from it, the internet is serious business.

This is what happens when an email address, which is very public to begin with, gets into the hands of a prankster. It's not much different from a delivery man visiting you at home and asking you to sign for something that you didn't order.
