All joking aside, I think you should just tell the truth. You might get in trouble, but maybe not. And you'll definitely get in less trouble than if they walk in while you're pounding your five-year old "cousin" in the face to give him amnesia.

I don't want to act like a saint but this aint that funny. Come on guys ... the poor kid has burned himself! im dissapointed :(

First off take some ice or cold water to take out the swelling and keep cold compresses on his lips and tongue.

AND TELL THE TRUTH! I would sue anyone who would do this to my kid, that tells me that its the dog or any other lame nutcase excuse. Be honest and tell him that you did not want to hurt the kid.

To be fair, Commie did say the kid was being a brat.

Punch him in the face. They're gonna find out either way that he burned himself, so make it count.

Here's the chance to take out your aggression on this devil.

Aw cmon Raisin Bran this is hilarious

baseball bat to the back of the head. with any luck, he'll lose enough memory.

In all seriousness, tell the truth. If the Dad's an idiot about it, well, find new friends/cousins. They're obviously not doing a good job raising kids.

Good too, but it's tremendously difficult to judge force, what could brain one kid could kill another, trust me I have a deal of experience with cranial assaults with a baseball bat.

I suggest chloroform, tuck him up in bed and then pretend nothing ever happened, no Mr Wilkinson I have no idea how tommy burnt himself, why the little scamp, no sir it wasn't me?

Everyone takes chloroform along when they are baby sitting right?

I'm pretty sure if he said that he'd be dishonest.

from what I red in the OP it seems like he did not want to hurt the kid!
yeah he may be a brat but he did not want the kid to burn himself

where is all the compassion/empathy ?

Could be subconscious desire, when he gave him the pop tart did he forget to tell him to be carefull it was hot, or did he "forget" to tell him it was hot?

Definitely just say that you weren't expecting it to be so hot. You could say he was going to eat it, and took too big of a bite, and burned himself. Not really lying, but pulling the truth into something beneficial to you. And really, do you think the kid is smart enough to know you were intentionally trying to hurt him?

yes thanks thats exactly waht i'm going to do!!

Remember that the little bratm if he can speak, will probably talk about the incident in his own way... So make sure to say that the hot stuff accidentally spilled out.

I feel sorry for the kid really, but when I was a kid I lived in a constant war zone of scrapes and injuries, it never did me any harm, well apart from the knee that aches on rainy days, and the slight facial tick, oh and the voices caused apparently by an inoperable sub dural thrombosis. He'll be fine, forget about it:)

Well, he could be worse off.. Like losing his taste buds!
I feel a little bad for him, but, seeing as I have a younger sister, aged 12, I know how it feels to have a bratty relative/kid to deal with. Sometimes, you just want to smack them.

Okay, he calmed down and some time later his parents come home. the lip is not very swollen but you could see it. I told them he wanted my hot pocket so i offered him a bite but he bit off more than he could chew and burnt his lip. meanwhile he started crying and screaming "he burned me!". I dont know if they believed me but they didnt appear angry just a littel shocked...

i'm hella stupid and immature i know. PLEASE HELP

Then here's your chance to correct that and act w/ intelligence and maturity and admit your mistake.

I'm certainly not gonna help you try and cover up borderline child abuse.

Jeez, you guys would all be really liberal parents. Not that I didn't know that before. Me, I don't have a problem with a little physical punishment to teach a kid a lesson. At least for the big ones. At their age, a little spank can go a long way. I took a few as an undisciplined child, but now, I turned out just fine.

Or how about you realize this is another attention seeking thread like the one about his "spider bite". Aren't personal threads disallowed by the way?
