End of game animation doesn't work

Dear Civilizators!

Am I the only one who has a problem with the end of game animation not working? I am talking about the animation showing the civilization developments (Rome founded 4000 BC; the babylonians eradicated 1200 AD etc.). If you Retire at a reasonably early stage, the animation normally works, but if you play the game to the end, it never works.

Has anybody else seen this?

Computer specs:
AMD Thunderbird 1200 MHz
256 MB RAM
Power VR KYRO-II graphics [Hercules 3D Prophet 4500] (normally causes no problems whatsoever during game )
ECS motherboard (K7VZA)
with on-board sound
etc etc.
