Sorry, but I had a very busy week. The Royal Guard had a 150th Anniversary on Wednesday, and there was a lot of preparations prior to it. I have an "exam" next Wednesday as well, which meant a lot of exercise afterwards as well. Not very likely that I get to check the forum in the following days, but the first period is meant to be hectic anyway. At least I have the weekend now to relax and do something else than parading around with a funny hat on and stomp with my feet.

"You've had almost a DECADE to 'figure it out' as you say! Do you know how many schools we could have built with the resourses you've used up trying to understand that flying contraption?"

"Enough! You will start working on real uses for it. I dont care if its as stupid as using it to help lift water out of a well, find a real use for it or I'll bury the dam thing in the ground."

"Go on." Czar Grisha had wanted to get that out for years, but the scientist in him always stopped the ruller of Roddyna from being hard on the Techmagi working to discover the true intentions of the ancestors in making the Sunsoarer. But it had been too much time, effort and resourses spent on something that had yet to provide Roddyna with any tangible benefit.

"Its been a week, and this is all we've come up with? Maps?"
Lora felt defeated, she had actualy been thinking of practical uses for the SunSoarer for much longer then a week, but it had been a week since the Czar had specificaly ordered her to drop all other research on it, and concentrate on practical applications. They had nothing.
"Maybe Czar Grisha is right? Should we just bury this thing and stop wasting our time on it?"
A courus of "No"s and "How can you say that?"s issued from the crowd of students, underlings, workers and engeneers gatherer infront of her.
"Well, then I guess I go present this mapping project to the Czar and hope he sees a use in it that I frankly dont."

"Maps, eh? Well, how detailed can you get?"
It took Lora a second to realize that the Czar was not telling her off for suggesting something as rediculous as using the SunSoarer for making maps.
"Well, the initial idea was actualy broad scale maps as it can see large pieces of the country at one time. So we can see how big a lake here is in relation to a forest miles away, which can be dificult to measure for people on the ground."
"Could you map enemy territory in Furey's Domain without risking the SunSoarer? Or even better, could you have it hang around a potential battlefield, and have it spy on enemy movements, so we can see if they're trying to flank us, and better yet if our flanking attempts are being countered?"
"Well, yes, I suppose all that is possible, but we're still not sure exactly how or why the SunSoarer does some things it does, while we can control it prety well if we know in advance what we want it to do, we have yet to have a successful try at changing its instructions midflight. Though i admit we havent tried that too many times."
"Well, get working on it. I like the mapping idea, it can help on the borders where we're not quite sure where our lands end and theirs begin. But even more i'm interested in the real time troop positions it can provide. Report back to me in a week with your progress. Earlier if you make any good headway."
"Yes Sir."
Lora felt like she floated out of the palace, she hadnt realized how heavily the thought of the SunSoarer being buried had weighed on her.
"But..."
