Envoy Discussion

Please clarify if envoys are a unique unit that u must build to send to a city state, or if they function under espionage.

They are most likely not a unit, but the exact details still need to be reviled

Envoys appear to operate in their own city-state specific interface. (edited for clarity)

Spoiler :

It would appear that we generate envoys over time and are able to choose which states they are sent off to.

Spoiler :

Judging by the above diplomatic policy choice, Envoys are generated by the accumulation of influence points. There is nothing that indicates we build Envoys using production, nor that they are a unit on the map. It's all done via the diplo interface.

I couldn't find any other threads about envoys so sorry if this has been covered elsewhere.

We now know that envoys are generated by the influence points generated by our government (and a few other sources such as cards). But once you've got an envoy and you've sent it to a city state, do we have the freedom to remove and reallocate those envoys or once they are sent do they stay with the same city state all game?

What if the city state is conquered, if envoys can't be removed are those ones lost?

Envoys are generated automatically over time based on your government type. Diplomatic Cards can influence this rate. Envoys are not units. Instead, they appear in the city state interface and the player assigns them to a city state.
