Emperor, your sword won’t help you out
Sceptre and crown are worthless here
I’ve taken you by the hand
For you must come to my dance

Both of those could be perfect for Europe in a few years in my game.

I am rather late with this, but this is what the Great Prince Ioann Vasilyevich thinks of your "NAPs" and "MPPs".

Spoiler this is what the system of local government I mentioned tends to look like, Birdjaguar :
Maksimov_usadba.jpg

The guy with the long beard is the "governor" prince, though technically governors of rural regions are called volosteli - "masters" or "owners" (very confusing, I know).

It looks quite idealized das. Thanks.

The bureaucracy (i.e. the dyaks), the oppression and the bribery are all off screen, ofcourse. :p And it obviously looks rather different in more heavily populated regions, to say nothing of cities.

And speaking of cities...

Spoiler I think this is the 17th century, but the overall atmosphere should be reasonably close, so feel free to get inspired :

More trading rows and the center square.

The humble voevoda (mayor) of the city, which would be something of an anachronism for the 15th century as the namestnik (governor) would be much more important before the Time of Troubles. Still, the dyaks and the supplicant merchants are all here, and I am not quite sure but I think that there just might be some bribery about to happen as well! The above picture is his residence, I think.

Night Watch. Technically also anachronistic (that is a strelets; I already put up a picture of a streltsy patrol earlier, by the way), but the general idea is close enough. Back in the 15th century it would probably be a city militiaman instead and the uniform won't be nearly as snazzy, but otherwise...
