SOVIETS ARRIVE IN BULGARIA! A large Soviet army has just arrived in this Balkan nation over the past month and has given assistance to the communist government there. In nearby Greece, pro-communist demonstrations have had many people demanding similar support for their nation from the Russian giant.

CARRIER CONSTRUCTED IN IRELAND! A new supermodern carrier has been built by this small island nation, the IN Lucky Charm. This ship, to other nations' surprise, rivals even the strongest Japanese and American carriers.

UNREST ENDS IN BULGARIA! After the arrival of the Soviet Expeditionary force, the local conservative insurgents quickly found their army disappearing. The leaders of the rebels have fled into sympthetic Rumania and are attempting to form a government in exile, though thus far it lacks legitamacy. The former army of the conservatives has returned to their homes or disappeared into the hills.

MILITARY REFORMS IN SCANDINAVIA! The new submachine guns invented by the Finns have been spread through the Scandinavian Union. As such the Scandinavian Infantry is some of the finest in Europe, particularly in mountain combat. In addition the new Swedish designed Svi-77 jet fighter outmatches any other fighter in the world. The new inventions have made Scandinavia into an impressive military force.

WONDER WEAPONS! In the past month two uninhabited islands in the world became more uninhabitable. First in the Baltic, Germany detonated the first atomic test in full view of the Soviet army and navy. In the Pacific the United States of America conducted a similar test. Reports have the Soviet Union and United Kingdom close on the heels of these two scientific nations, and many onlookers fear the use of these weapons in the growing Soviet-British War.

PORTUGESE GOVERNMENT FLEES! The government of Portugal has fled their nation, leaving most of the industry intact and in Spainish hands. Things have been quiet in Iberia in the past month except for the start of the air campaign against the communists by the British.

AIR WAR OVER IBERIA! With the recent declaration of war upon the Soviet Union by the United Kingdom, hostilities have begun between two of the world's most powerful nations. Using bases in the Channel and southwestern England, the British have begun a bombing campaign using their new long ranged Spitfire fighters as escorts for the bombers. Local forces have had advantages over the British as they are fighting over their own territory, but the tightening British blockade and the overwhelming numbers of the attacking planes have caused the Spainish and Soviets some difficulty.

Casualty List

British: 210 Spitfires, 110 Bombers
Spainish: 200 YAKs
Soviet: 50 YAKs

FRENCH CIVIL WAR CONTINUES! Reports have been gathered from the varying fronts of the war. Below are descriptions of the parts of the raging conflict, gathered by our daring combat reporters.

MARSELLIES FRONT: In a surprising move to communist forces, a Romanian expeditionary force has arrived in assistance of Republican French and Italian forces coming through the southern border. However, they have been met by considerable communist resistance, and though they are pushing the communists back, bad weather and difficult terrain, not to mention the communist T-34s, have prevented the Allies from cutting the supply line from Spain.
To the distress of communists everywhere, after vicious fighting, the communists surrendered the city of Marsellies to the advancing Allies. However the surrender was made only after ammunition was exhausted and both sides were badly hurt by the fighting.

Casualty List

Communist France: 46,000 Conscripts, 18,000 Infantry, 6,000 Soviet Infantry, 250 T-34s
Italy: 34,000 Infantry, 375 Light Tanks
Rumania: 19,000 Infantry, 340 Light Tanks

LYONS FRONT: As communist forces approached the Maginot from the rear, they quickly found themselves under heavy assualt from the south by a massive Italian force supported by German air forces. The local communists quickly found themselves in a rout and barely escaped with what was left of their army.

Casualty List

Communist France: 12,000 Conscripts, 2,000 Infantry
Italy: 1,000 Infantry, 10 Light Tanks
Republican France: 14,000 Infantry

NORTHERN FRONT: The war in the north has gone spetactularly well for the communists as they capture numerous intact factories and supply depots as the Caen garrison surrenders without a fight. In fact nearly 10,000 of the formerly republican forces volunteered to join the communist army on the promise they could fight the invaders who are defiling beloved France. To the west the communist commader has begun an assualt on the city of Brest, which many foreign observers believe will fall within a month. IN addition, republican forces, having launched a badly coordinated and bungled attempt to relieve Caen have found themselves once more retreating to Paris.

Casualty List

Republicans: 78,000 Infantry, 240 Light Tanks
Communists: 23,000 Conscripts, 11,000 Infantry, 205 Light Tanks

THE AIR WAR: In the skies over France brutal battles for supremacy have been raging. With the entry of the German and Italian air forces into the conflict, the newly designed Sagitarrios have been destroying the Communist YAKs extremely easily. As such the bombers of the communists have been left without cover and the remnants of the captured bombers from Republican air fields have been destroyed.

Casualty List

Communist France: 190 Fighters, 90 YAKs, 50 Bombers
Republican France: 70 Fighters, 30 Bombers
Italy: 25 Sagitarrios
Germany: 10 Sagitarrios

MAP O EUROPE

Red dot is Soviet military encampment. You did invite them.

My guesses: France is doomed.
EQ you did carry out my orders didn't you? :)

Comrade Napoleon looked tired as he climbed up on a T-34 in Caen. His uniform was torn, his face blackened by gunpowder, his arm bleeding badly.

He turned to look at the crowd, trying to decide what to say. He had been aiding the defence of Marseilles, and was preparing to fight to the death there, until his second-in-command delivered a punch that knocked him out. He had woken up on a plane being taken to the more successful Northern front, with a massive fighter escort.

"Well, they've soiled French land. Imperialist capitalists now have French land within their grasp, our Mother soil! Communism teaches the destruction of nations and instead the creation of a world protelariat, and so I have tried to ignore all diplomacy and politics and instead focus on our revolution.

"I now see that was an error. To allow the world revolution to take place, there must be strong Communist countries to defeat the Imperialist ones, and only once the Capitalists are defeated can we finally disband nations once and for all.

"So with that in mind, I will finally formally accept Soviet aid in this crisis, and offer them a base of operations in Caen. I know this will open up the English-Soviet war, which will harm us, but it will free our forces up to fight the war against the Imperialists invading our nation.

"Now my friends, celebrate! We have taken Caen, Brest is almost ours, and we shall prevail!"

TO THE SOVIET UNION
FROM COMRADE NAPOLEON

I invite you to create a military encampment outside Caen. In return for this forward base against the English Imperialists, I ask only that you defend the city of Caen, the Communist French capital now, to free our forces up to fight the Capitalist scum invading France, and continue or increase aid to our revolution.

As part of this agreement, Communist France would officially accept an alliance with the Soviet Union, and agree to become subordinate to the Union in the Communist Revolution - ie; we will follow your directions in the war against the Capitalists.

TO IMPERIALIST FRANCE
FROM COMRADE NAPOLEON

You invite other nations into our civil war, and expect me not to do the same? You are much mistaken - and it shall be you who shall pay the price. While the Soviet Union would be happy to keep Communist France independent, your Imperialist allies I doubt will hand over the land they have taken quite so easily...

TO THE SOCIALIST AND COMMUNIST NATIONS OF THE WORLD
FROM COMRADE NAPOLEON

The Revolution in France is still alive, although it has suffered a blow. Please send us aid to prevent the Communist flame from being blown out in France!
