I hope you'd like it. A ten musketmen with diverse uniforms, thanks to danrell for some of his textures:goodjob: Also, you have less of XML work to do - just copy/paste:) The Part II will be soon. Itll include 10 musketmen for another civs. And Jannisary MUST replace the RIFLEMAN not the musketman, Im sure, because russians fought the ottoman jannisaries when the rifles were developed.
How do you like these units?

I'll sure use some of them in my mod, but they are too medieval looking for my taste ;)

Hold your horses (or muskets) there...

The Janissaries comprised infantry units that formed the Ottoman sultan's household troops and bodyguard. The force originated in the 14th century; it was abolished by Sultan Mahmud II in 1826 in The Auspicious Incident.

You are both correct and wrong on this... just because they fought Russians with rifles doesn't mean they weren't around much earlier with muskets, as they indeed were.

In the first centuries, Janissaries were expert archers, but they adopted firearms as soon as such became available during the 1440s, and were present at the siege of Vienna in 1529.

The Ottoman empire used Janissaries in all its major campaigns, including the 1453 capture of Constantinople, the defeat of the Egyptian Mamluks and wars against Hungary and Austria. Janissary troops were always led to the battle by the Sultan himself, and always had a share of the booty.

Janissaries spent a LOT more time as Musketmen then they did as Riflemen... you still so confident they "MUST replace the RIFLEMAN"?
