EU bans claim that water can prevent dehydration

I wonder why people still buy bottled water. It's expensive as hell, and where I live at least tap water is very good. Probably better than the crap they sell in bottles for many times the price. For the last... 6 years or so, I've been drinking tap water.

I only ever buy it (and it doesn't happen often at all) when it's hot out, I'm out on the town, and I'm in a convenience store looking at something to drink.. So basically pop or bottled water. Sometimes I'll go for pop, and sometimes I'll go for water so that I don't have to consume all that sugar.

And sometimes I'll see a 24 pack of bottled water for $2 at Costco. I jump on that like a priest on an altar boy. It's really cheap. Usually I drink tap water more than anything though.. But $2 for 24 bottles of water? Who would say no to that?

edit: When you order water in a restaurant in Poland, you HAVE to specify "niegazowana" (non-carbonated) or you'll get what we call (here in north america) mineral water. You know.. the fizzy stuff.
