The Byzantine Cataphract is an armored horseman that is designed to counter lighter speedier nomadic steppe horsement, while simutaneously keeping up with the knights of Europe. The biggest problem with your Unique Unit, is that you are hardly master horsemen. Early on, your Cataphracts may not achieve the same results as they would if they were well-trained.

It'll take you a few turns to develop Cataphracts, and once you have done that, it'll cost you 2 economy levels to recruit 1000 of them.

Unique Units: You will each be allowed 4 Unique Units during the whole game. They will cost two eceonomy levels to recruit whatever the standard number of soldiers per recruitment is (right now, 1000). The Unique Units are far superior but won't last too long, and are expensive.

Edit:I`ve done a little research, thats right! And heres whats going to happen:

Then

Daniel de Cicujano, a Shepard of 20 years living on the outskirts of the town of Cicujano. He, his father, and his father's father were responsible for raising the Duke of Vitoria's flocks of sheep. He, his wife and his seven children lived comfortably on the wages of 60 andorrors a year, and he was lucky to have such wages, many men subsisted on half as much.

The sound of a pack of horsemen was approaching; it was the duke's sheriff, collecting taxes for the month. He had his purse with him, the tax would be for half an andorror, unless the sheriff was feeling especially greedy today, he usually was.

A horseman approached him. "Surrender your purse, you Andorran fill de puta." He could tell by the accent that the man was from the South. He was a Visigoth raider. He had a dilemma, he could run and keep the money which was necessary to feed his family, or, he could surrender the money, and watch his family starve. He stammered.

"I cannot, I will not let my family starve, please, do not take what little I have." He said. The knight from the South removed his sword from its sheath, thrust it into the Shepard.

but if i want to recruit 1000 normal troops and arm them with horses it costs 2 economy too right? how come 1000 Special troops with horses and special equipment cost the same?

Hmm. What do you think I should do about this? I was going to have your troops get the hang of their horses by the next turn, and have amirsan wait about 3-4 for him to be able to recruit cataphracts. Maybe I should take it down to 2 turns, and bring it up to 3 economy levels? Either way, sorry about that. I'll fix it. I want this NES to be as fair and realistic as possible.
