Europe, 630 A.D.
Europe... in such times as these it is best to talk about what is outside the main conflict, before we get to the actualy heavy warfare. So we start with nations quite some ways from France, the epicenter of the lunity.
In Visigoth lands, King Almarich declaers that a large-scale invasion of Europe will begin! His recent research into formations gets his troops up to par with the rest of Europe, and ready for the ensuing conquests! However... he expands to the Southwest, which isn't Europe but rather Africa. He lands on the African coast via his small navy and establishes a significant outpost there.
In Russia, the Russian culture is increased, along with it's army whcih is now stronger than ever. Their recent expansion all around has led to a much more established idea of Russian borders. The Russian economy is one of the most healthy in the world, recieving an economy level every 2 out of 3 turns.
In Iceland, the Icelanders remain isolated from the rest of Europe. They easily conquer all of the Western regions of their Iceland, which gives them many years to sit around surrounded by waters. This eventually leads to them developing "longboats". Relatively ineffective in actual combat, they can travel long distances and carry many warriors.
In Germany, the German wonder is nearing completion. The army is stretched to it's limits, expanding in most all directions and gaining much lands. This time also marks the construction of the first ever German navy.
And in Arabia, Mohammed is forced to sit and wait. Some Arabic clans were giving him trouble, but by the time of his death he has firmly united them all. Sadly, he dies right then too. Panic spreads throughout the empire, which is taken over by Abu Bakr. The exhausted Persians, and busy Byzantines eye the new threat to the South with interest.
But of course, back to the more important matters...
Finland attacks! The large gathering of troops in Finland's colonies was not merely for expanding. With the Norwegians busy elsewhere, the Finns find themselves deep in Norwegian territory and heading toward Oslo with minnimal losses. However... there await the Krigers that they had heard so much about.
Back in France, the French try to cut off Norwegian access to the sea, and succeed, killing 500 Norwegians. Meanwhile, the Norwegians keep pushing forward towards Paris. They finally reach it and find it being defended by hordes of crusaders. After heavy fighting, the Norwegians lose 1500 men, leaving them with 4500. They had succeded however in taking over a castle on the outskirts of Paris, once belonging to the powerful Trudeau noble family. They fortify it, and get ready for an attack on Paris. Paris itself is defended by 1000 foootmen, and 1000 Crusaders. 1600 horseman are making their way towards the scene but riding at such a heavy gallop are growing tired.
Meanwhile in Northumberland, the Northumberlandese are held back for a short while. In a bloody battle costing 200 Burgundian swordsmen, the French hold off a Northumberlandese advance. Both sides are in sight of London.
Norway is driven out of the Mediterranean! Andorran troops quickly conquer all of the old Mediterranean Kingdom that had been conquered previously by the Norwegians. The 500 poorly equipped Norwegians quickly fall to the superior Andorran forces.
And in the vatican, many a battle occur. The city is still holding out, and the number of men in the foreign legions surges. Still, the pope senses he can't keep this up for long. He decides to draft a peace treaty for the nations of Europe... perhaps settling this now old conflict.
