Religion has no place in school and education.

My wife took her complaint to the head of the psychology department and the head agreed with my wife. My wife was allowed to drop the class, was refunded all her money for the class and the liberal professor was formally reprimanded.
I give applause for you wife on taking that action .

This site is a traversty? I have no idea why anyone would take it seriously and Mob Boss good on your wife, that's also a traversty.

Oh and by the way that site lies, doubles numbers(there are 30 cities of AI) and misquotes the bible on many occasions, it's a waste of time. Try the other options people mentioned, that site is more pointless and biased than anything I've seen in a long time.

I like taking a stance against certain views in the bible as you know, but I can't condone that BS, it's criminaly sad.

Isn't an important part of being a good christian spreading the faith to others? Isn't a standard part of missionary work the passing out of bibles to non-believers?

Why then when someone uses their brain and questions what is actually written in the bible do we suddenly get a whole host of people who are offended, claim persecution, toss out words like heretic, etc.?

Why is there suddenly a list of excuses from 'it was written by man, not god', 'the bible doesn't really mean what it says', 'we don't interpret it the way it reads', 'you can't just quote snippets' and my favorite 'there is a huge part of the book we just gave you that we no longer believe in, so disregard the whole front section'.

Does this strike anyone else as odd?

Passing on a translation of the Holy Scripture is a sin! Why won't anybody merit my trolling?

You are but one brain-in-a-jar in an endless warehouse of others almost, but entirely unlike it. It is only natural that, from time to time, your voice will be lost in the muddle.

I hereby acknowledge your trolling.

We all sin a little bit right? What better way to sin than to spread the word of god? Or at least a written by man, slightly edited, poorly translated, non-literal version that the whole front section of which is now just ignored. But don't let this stop you from telling people "I see the Holy Bible not to be questioned since it is the word of God." :)

Nothing burns like the searing light of truth.

Sidhe, I've already checked half a dozen of the most objectionable acts on Bible gateway, and if anything the site didn't do them full justice. Take the massacre of 70,000 mentioned earlier. Reading the chapter in full from Bible gateway I'm left even more disgusted than I was already. Firstly "God" decides to "incite" David to take a census of the people of Israel and Judah, because he was angry (no explanation why). David does as he is told, but for some unexplained reason this is regarded as a terrible sin, and "God", despite instigating the sin in the first place, offers him a choice of three despicable punishments to be visited on the innocent population. "God" then massacres 70000 before he is grieved enough to stop.

This is not from any biased site, it is taken straight from the Bible itself. Even one act of this type would be enough to condemn the being referred to as "God" as a thing of almost unparalleled evil, and a mere casual browse through the quotes have turned up many acts like this, which can be confirmed in any copy of the Bible.

Hi I live in California, as you can probably tell by my posts im a little pisssed off. I went through San Fransisco today to talk to an old friend. I visited some shops and the like to wearing a white shirt that said "Cornerstone Community Church". I was knoecked three time today for my shirt, two of which were aimed directly at Christianity. This happens quite regularly actually. It gets a little old.

Hi, I live in Alabama. I went to Dothan with my "God is Dead" t-shirt on, and I got grief from 4 people in one day, two of which were aimed directly at Atheists. Every time I wear that shirt I get grief. It get's a little old.

Geez... poor persecuted Christians, all they want to do is go around and announce to the world they are Christian... sort of like those flaming homos in the eighties that made people so angry.

That gives me an idea.....

The Tower of Babel clearly shows that God does not want us to be able to speak to people who speak a different language. And then there's that part, written in Greek, where we're forbidden from altering the text.

Anyway, I agree about the "a little sin for a whole lot of good". My wife harvested all 100,000 of her eggs and I fertilised the petri dishes. Since babies go to Heaven, I've totally outclassed everyone when it comes to populating the place.

Oh, and 1 Corinthians 9 leaps out too. More permission for the Christian to do things that are normally considered sins. "Why should I be subject to someone else's conscience?" indeed.

Realy? Which Translation of the Bible.

I've been using King James for most of this, but all the English versions available on Bible Gateway refer to this atrocity (2 Samuel 24).

The bible should be rated 18+ for all the violence, rape, incest and genocide in it. Rather unsuprisingly the 'violence and cruelty' section of skeptics bible is by far the longest.

Heh...I was thinking about this the other night. What do you think would happen if children weren't bombarded with religion at such impressionable and young ages? Let them make up their own minds once they are adults. Not pound it into them for 18yrs and hope it sticks.

I bet there'd be a lot more atheists running around.

Well there are certain people who consider religious indoctrination at a young age a form of child abuse. Personally I wouldnt go that far, unless you think (for example) Pokemon takes advantage of childrens gullibility and is evil. Ok maybe pokemon was a bad example.
