Welcome to this excuse to actually do something. My non-existant deputy and I (NOTE: Until a tangeble deputy can be found, Tzara will occupy that spot. For more information on Tzara, monitor my storyline threads) are bored, so we want to do stuff. We should classify our currently unmet neighbors.
Presuming we are going for a 20k City Victory, our enemies would have to be listed in rank of number of cities with x amounts of great wonders. This system would be based on the ever so "helpful" Terrorism Alert System.
I was thinking:
RED: Has a city/cities has/have superior culture
ORANGE: Is a few turns from recieving a city/cities with superior culture.
Yellow: Has city/cities with decent culture, but should be monitored.
Blue: No threat from this civ as of now, but should still be checked up on.
Green: This civ shows us no threat. Don't even bother checking up on it.

My deputy and I know this sounds like something for Internal, but it could be used as a neighbor watcher.

Thoughts? Critiques? I before E except after C unless sounding like A as is Neighbor or Weight?

I think it is a very good idea to classify neighbors and other civs with a warning/threat code. Once we get to the big meet everyone else phase, this type of approach is a good way for the DP to keep everything straight.

This is definetly a good idea. If I remeber correctly, chiefpaco ran this sort of system in DG1.

True, Octavian, but it was Shaitan who originally designed that program. He enlisted a system in which he polled the opinions of the people on all the tribes. Shaitan did this early in Term 2 of DG1, as by then we had met everyone except the English, I believe. chief paco then adapted the system when he and Shaitan swapped positions in Term 3. :)

You can read all about this in the Demogame Homepage History section. There will be a link coming soon.

This looks like a fine idea to me. We might also want to do a similar alert system for nations that show a potential for attacking us in the future.

also, if we really go for a 20k victory, we probably have to keep an eye on our enemies not achieving *any* victory condition.

Well, this is somehow trivial, hm? What I wanted to say is that, after our cultural city is set up, winning is basically a question of time...

It appears that a 20k may not be in the works thanks to our "lovely" start location. So, the codes for culture are out. I'd still like to use the color coded system. It will most likely be red=iminent threat of attack to green=no threat of attack. Any other ideas?
