Failed Save

Game that is.

Platform: G4 iMac
OS: Tiger 11
Version: Civ3Complete

Problem: Hit CMD-S, get back failure message. Apparently whatever the app is supposed to save to doesn't exist, because I can't find it in Finder.

It also appears that autosaving isn't working now. Any ideas?

Where did the game save originate?

The reason I ask is, if it is a Play By Email save that you have received from a Windows player, it may be a known problem with a solution.

Single player game, no email involved. I'll see about getting a copy of the message to post.

Update: Found out why I couldn't save games. I didn't have permission.

Get info, claim ownership, do this for three folders. Such excitement.

That's weird! The game defaults to saving into ~/Documents/Civilization 3 Complete/Saves/

~/ is your own Home folder. It's pretty unusual not to have permission to write to folders within your own Home folder
