Fall Further 050 Bug Report Thread

I don't know if it still needs confirmed or what not, but after recovering from the curse the land ritual thingy, buildings that give resources DO NOT give resources, even after building that appease divinity.
 
I've noticed that quite a few of my crashes come immediately after starting to mouse over the icon for a Ghostwalker (Scion ranger UU). The crash occurs before the tooltip pops up but instantly when I mouse over the unit's icon. Unfortunately, I can't get this to a situation where it always happens.
 
I have to make the general comment that I am getting far more CTDs with patch e than prior versions of FF.

I wouldn't make any sense to try a post a saved game as it is one of those movable CTDs...

I am fine for 15-20 turns, then another crash. This goes on an on. It seemed to start happening around turn 500 or so in my epic speed game.

Also, the usual MAFs on reloading saved games, but I have grown to expect them once the map is 3/4 full.

Anyway, a lot of saving (after each turn) and reloading because of the CTDs in .50e for me. :(
 
xienwolf, I always read your updates on page 1 of this thread.

One that I reported and is missing is the case in my last two games where I was unable to take/raze both barb and other AI civ cities. I posted thumbnails for this showing my units in the cities with nothing happening.

Getting it once is something, but getting it twice in two different games tells me there is a bug there somewhere that needs attention when there is time - it should at least be listed somewhere on page one.

I know you have your hands full fixing things and updating, but I just wanted to bring this up again.

Grrr... I swear I had put that one on there in the "Needs Verification/Savefile" or something. It is my 'catch-all' category for things which completely confound me at the time.

Anyway, I've mildly sucked at updating the first post at all lately. Been very short on time and starting to get code-burnt (which is good, because I shouldn't be working on this at all right now honestly. Big semester right now. But it is occasionally relaxing ;))


Anyway, do your best to catch a save right before this happens. Quicksave immediately before each city capture or something, and reload to see if you still cannot take it. Finding a reproducable save means I can walk through it with the debugger and see exactly where it is freezing up.
 
I hope the bug with raider ability automatically clearing out forests etc have also been corrected in the next patch. It is rather annoying.
 
Updated to patch E & everytime i try to load BTS, or the FF, or any mod, i get this

If it's affecting BtS, then something has probably happened to the base assets. Have you tried copying any files manually at any point (such as adding changes from another mod)? The installer shouldn't be able to touch anything outside of the mods directory, so a manual change seems the only option that can cause something like this...

In anycase - it looks like a reinstall is the simplest solution (unless you have a clean copy of the BtS assets).

Reinstalled BTS, and the same problem is occuring, and i ran WINUNDELETE, like 2 days ago to restore some music files i accidently deleted, and may have restored files or caused an error with BTS i guess.
Should i reinstall base Civ4 aswell?

I noticed that in your original screenshot, you were one tile outside your borders and had Nox Noctis. Was that by some chance also the case the second time? Because I remember from a while ago that invisible units don't capture cities, and I've recently noticed that the FF version of Nox Noctis sometimes takes a turn to kick in or wear off.

Aye - something like this I'd start from scratch - just remember to patch to 3.17 as well...
 
In my last few games (which were mostly as the Infernals, with significant cheating so I could get all the religions in one city) I've found that the Council of Esus keeps disappearing from the city where it is founded.

That is quite likely to be the cause actually. I'll have to try and think of ways to fix this, but till then, I guess just don't let someone settle right beside your territory if you have Nox :p

Are you sure it wasn't the "Esus is hidden from you if not your State Religion" feature? And did you try to reproduce it in unmodded code?

Have you seen it in any unit other than Abominations? Abominations were clearing forests because of a bug with Abominations.
