Fall with Fleme

We have opinions of 3 players about what to do with quests; I think I will wait with playing till tommorow

Oh wow! Good stuff here!

Werewolves are pretty cool actually. They have a chance of converting units they defeat into ravenous werewolves. The original Foxford event turns your unit into a werewolf. Not sure if that is the case here. Sounds like we just get to find one. Anyway, we might not be quite ready to take this one on yet.

I'm a bit torn on the alignment issue. Generally I like Neutral or Good, or Neutral and striving to become Good. Evil would make a nice variant although I never pictured Austrin as evil types. Destroying the village would lose us a good commerce tile. I'll just leave this decision up to the rest of the team since I'm wishy-washy about it and then just follow whatever path that leads from there. It may be best to stay more Neutral for the time being until a true path presents itself.

As for settling near foxford, I was think 1W of the deer actually. It can grab the pigs which could later be shared with the fish city to the SW. I think we can fit another city E for the cotton.

I agree that we might want to clear up the Lizard situation first for some easier XP before tackling Fizziks. If the undead are just skeletons it should not be too much of a problem.

Hint: You should always take a look at the save and what you see there to make an educated decision on what is what. Every time the save is in my ballpark, things change and the save is not quite the same as it was when I got it. These changes are subtle (or not) but might still tilt your decisions towards other directions than those which seem good on paper.

I'm by no means stating that you are choosing the wrong path to go about things here, on the contrary, but talking more in general terms.

It is actually very interesting to see how you guys play this stuff out as it is already entirely different how I initially pictured it back on the drawing board. (...urvivor camp was indeed intended to be unlocked in the first set but obviously these issues are subject to random chance and as such this is actually playing out in a way that is turning out to be more interesting.)

I'm looking forward to the followups and how they unfold based on your play.

Ah....looks like we can off 1 skeleton by moving 1NW to the shrub tile and the hitting him at high odds. I guess we can pop one of the barrows now. Heal and take the other one out.

As for the reward, all three are nice, but I'm leaning towards the "Traveler's Cloak". Grindane can get mobility promos later and the -1 terrain cost just boost his current and later mobility.

Fleme - I'm surprised you did not notice the voice in the rogue's head :)

The quests are great ! The game sounds more and more promising.

I'd go for the neutral option in Q2, but in a little while, maybe with a phoenix blooded hero.

Q3 :
Note ; one of the skeleton is only 1 +1 death strong, and the other one is held.
Gryndane should have good odds, especially if not attacking accross the river.=> cf Q1
As for Barrows destruction : can we use a rogue for popping them, and Gryndane as support ?

for new city, I agree with Brian's suggestions.

Yeah you can use the rogue for popping them if that is how you choose. However, the hero needs to be present in the deed but if necessary, can escape the situation.

And lymond, I'm lost - wut?!

If I am counting votes correctly, we have 2 votes for Evil Foxford option and 2 for Neutral one; so persons who still did not vote will decide, or discussion will happen

As far as Foxford is concerned, given how you guys are potentially leaning towards the Neutral option, perhaps leave it alone for a set or two because a bad roll could end you : )

Anyway, don't forget the "actual" game, this is just extra! If I understood right, you're playing tonight Jarrema? It's not a big deal if you don't complete the quests during your set if you run into time constraints (turn limitations) and that's fine. Keep in mind that the quests are the extra and you have a game to deal with.

Did you get your screenshots working?

Yes, screenshots work but only with a work-around. I can set timer to take screenshot at given minute, then switch to the civ screen, and it will be done. But it is time-consuming and I CANNOT take 'sudden' screenshot, so I cannot for example take a screenshot of killing an unit

Yeah we don't need action screenshots so no need to worry about that. Looking forward to seeing where you take the game.

On a sidenote, hate what's going on with the forum lately. It's so sluggish.

Game played. Some report would be here...

First, I want to say that I did not stopped after gaining 7,5 xp with Gryndane. I wanted to play more than 5 turns!

Second, I decided to build another warrior - too many lizardmen, we need warrior more than a scout

and now...

From the Great Annals of Jauron, the Austrin Court official chronicler:

Year 16 PS (post-settling)
Our brave hero Gryndane killed a lone skeleton north to the Fizzik Workshop!
Abnoba, mad prophed praising entropy, is gaining renown in far away lands.
One of our brave rogues, young men that ventured west, killed a tiger in self defence. He gains a nick-name 'Cat Bane'

Year 17 PS
One of our rogues has sent home some ancient scrolls found among old graves, They are really interesting. I managed to decipher a secret of cartography.

Year 19 PS.
Emissaries of wise Einion Logos have visited our court. He wants to live in peace, just as we. Our advisors suggested that we should sign Open Borders treaty.
Gryndane killed his second skeleton. he now has 8,88 xp.

Year 20 PS.
Alarm! Lizardmen are spotted close to the Telynohn gates! Fortunately, Cat Bane returns to protect city.

Year 22 PS
First warrior has been built in our capitol.

Year 24 PS
Our wise men have researched secret of agriculture.
Lizardmen show up again.
Gryndane kills an orc warrior.

Year 26 PS
In far away country, great bard Caspian Loch has been born.

Year 30 PS
Gryndane kills his third skeleton.

At this time, I have also received a notes made by our brave rogue. I decided to include them here. Fortunately, he is using the same date system that I do:
Year 17. I decided to search the graves that I spotted near to the hill. Let the spirits of death rest in peace. I believe someone is watcing over me, I had incredible luck. Among old bones I found scrolls of ancien parchment with unbroken seals. I immediately sent it to the capitol
Year 22. I have explored lone barrow at a desert. I was a little afraid, because our great hero Gryndane was not near at the moment. When I entered a barrow, I spotted a unit of orc warriors! Fortunately, they decided to flee.
Year 23. I explored those barrows again. I have found some old traps among bones; I believe those orcs must have left them here.
Year 24. I explored another barrow. I am getting used to digging in the graves, even bones do not trouble me anymore. Once again, unit of orcs was sitting in this barrow. Those orcs like graves, didn't they? Luckily, Gryndane was with me this time. He took care of those green skins.
Year 30. Another barrow. Routine. Yet... something strange happens. I sent this parchment as a last note from me, I feel that my end is close - this time I had awaken some kind of ghost!

EDIT: Sorry, I do not know why, but uploading savefile fails repeatedly. I must now go to sleep :( I will upload it tommorow

I'm very please to see Cat Bane survived. Cartography is a good pick-up.

Yeh, looking forward to the save. I was sure that one rogue would perish (it did in like 80% of my tests)

yeah, I was sure that tiger would finish him :)
But he was plain lucky
TBH, If he was dead, our city will fall (it would be empty when lizardmen came, there was only this rogue who came back to home for serious healing; I was affraid that we will loose city nonethless but lizardmen did not decided to attack)

I still cannot upload file, there is message: Upload of file failed.
Fleme, maybe you could pm me your email adress and I will sent the save directly to you?

No need for PMs, but I'll spoiler it regardless!

Game sent.
One more thing I forgot: in one turn, after victorious battle (mesaage that he killed a skeleton), our hero DISSAPEARED. Completly, no trace of him. There was also no info about it. I reloaded game because of that and repeated attack, then everything was alright

^^^^that must be the secret invisibility promo

barbs can be pretty vicious at the start in FFH/FF especially if you have ruins/barrows/forts nearby. I wonder though if there is some grace period in the game for city attacks regardless. I've seen lizardmen pass through my borders early before and not attack the city or the stand there for a while and then attack...and die

It's ok that you reloaded with that incident. Anyhow, I've got the save now and will do the necessary changes by the end of tonight. Shouldn't take too long. This means Old_Lion is up once the save is posted.

I'll place the reward on Gryndane already based on the votes I got here as not to slow the game down (although technically I hope you return to the quest giver once you are complete and end your set there if you wish for a reward)
