Fallout mod.

Yeah, I like the eye-equipment(and the headmask in general) on that. They look perfect, especially the reflection and orangish color.

Wow, I suppose they upped the quality if they provide so few textures now(but their provided models I found excellent). Well, truth be said, there are thousands of textures all over the Net now if you think of it. I worked with Max4 once upon a time(but don't have it), things obviously changed.

One good way to make your own, is take a pic you have, opening it, copy paste the part you want to a new picture and use that as your texture. I haven't tried that with FO(since I never made any related stuff really). Maybe for this mask you could try the title pics, both DAC and NMA should have them, if you have the time and patience. Just a suggestion, I'm not trying to oblige you do it here.

Flame, that is a good idea, if I can get a good high pixel pic I will try that. :)

It's finals week and recently I had to do alot of catching up.

I've not given up, just been a little pre-occupied.

hey
I like the work youve been doing on the fallout mod. Youve been taking your time which is good becuase i feel like id love to actually play this mod, not just read about what others thought about it.
Just wanted to tell you to keep up the good work and ask a question: Will you ever release any of the individual units anytime soon or maybe a power armor leader head? (how do you use the rest room with that thing on?)
Fallout 1 and 2 were the greatest games ever. Sorry to hear they canned 3
Thanks again guys

OMG it was a long time since I visited this forum and this thread, just got that unforgiving fallout feeling again :p. Im sorry for just running away like that, but I have been very busy with other mods and stuff alike (school). To be honest I have just made other things and forgot the existance of this mod. So don't be mad at me thor! If you now should care. :p

@ Rifter

Acctualy they didn't cancle F3. Bethseda Softworks has the license for it now, and they will give it out in not a to long time. (considering it was 90% finished when Interplay disbanded it for some weird console game or something like that)

@ Everyone else
This is so freakin' good man! hope this mod comes together soon I just must try it.
Thor, did you finish the civilopedia file? or is that project abandoned. Anyway I have nothing better to do right now so I wonder if I could give it a try again (I have already written some stuff that could be implemented)

Anyways how is the work coming together? Will you be finished before Civ4 is released?

And also, what are all these 3d pictures for?... or am I just being silly...
Even if you don't need them they look very very good... :)

Here is a test render of everybody's favorite alien from FO2. :D

Wow, quite excellent!
Consider(maybe, don't want to really intervene) give it a more brown hue.
I'll upload a leather texture I have(or just mail it to you) one of these days in case you want to use that.

Nothing can be said against this model. It's flawless, really. If FTR has done it, it's his best yet!!!

Oh, forgot to mention, I've uploaded one more building in the board.

Flame, yeah FTR did this one along with a Radscorpion. The color was chosen from a screenie of the Wanamingo, then I used PSP to get the exact RGB settings, then used a bump map so the flesh was not smooth.
I will get the new building ASAP. Thanks dude.
Sure if you could UL that leather texture, that sure would help. :)

Fallout 1 and 2 are probably among my most favorite RPG's of all time. Keep it up, it looks great!

I had to sign up to the forums just to participate in this thread. And one other thing, are the Wanamingos going to be as hard to beat in this game? The only time I usually got out without a scratch was by aiming for the head and knocking them unconcious. :mischief: Even then half my guys would be radiated. :crazyeye:

Hehe, either way, this is an excellent idea. Brings back a lot of memories. :)

Here is what I was working on yesterday, The Mighty Deathclaw. :D

It needs some short of fur(not the FoT type, but the skin should be fairy/fuzzy the way I understand it from the way it looked in the RPG's).
I'll probably send it with the other leather texture.

Flame, good suggestions, but I did a lil research on the jacksons chameleon and it has a skin pattern close to what you see. As I used a lizard skin bump map along with RGB measurements from the RPGs. Also I went back and played both Fallout and Fallout two, the DC's in the RPG's weren't hairy, but I did see the pic in the Fallout 1 manual with the hair on the arms, so it does bear some thought. :)

bodywize from what i can see that looks right but i think the face needs tweaking, looks a bit gorilaish. good job though. :)

btw what program are you using for the 3d models, 3d studio max? and what are the 3d models for ?

Ah, Thorgrimm,

In regard to an earlier message I sent. What I was trying to get at is: How do you display/make the tech tree you have earlier. I'm not as computer/internet savy as many of the people/mutants here.

What I wanted to do was display the Beastlord tech tree.

On another note: I was having some ideas on a ghoul elite organization referred to as the Order of the Radiant Path.

Ghouls have long been repressed and therefore a valiant group of ghouls rose up to liberate their downtrodden brethren. Carrying Brilliant shields with the emblem of a glowing path/road leading to a bright star surrounded by a Mushroom Cloud, these heroes sally forsh... to lead all ghouldom to righteousness and glory. :crazyeye:

Oh well, Here I go on another tangent. :rotfl:

P.S. I'm in a semester the university compressed from 15 to 12 weeks. I not sure how much I can keep up with everything but I'll try.

In the civilization advances tab in the editor when you make the tech you assign an X-Y coordinate, and it is then displayed at that location. The arrows were added in PSP IIRC.

Herman, if you can make it not so fantasy sounding it would be ok. As it stands right now, reminds me of something from LOTR. ;)

The 3d models are for the units.

Hi Thorgrimm ... thanks for sounds ... when you send them ;) :p

Time to return the favour ...
I e-mailed James Farr requesting the ambient music from his Zombie Animation Series to be used in Escape from Zombie Island ... and have a listen ... I will be sent the soundscape soon ... might be cool music for Fallout ... shouldn't be a problem for you or anyone else to use ...

Well, the hair comment is more relevant to that you see them having different skin colors in their skin, If I'm not mistaken, at least in one(light brwon and then also dark brown stripes, which must be cause of fur, about 1/2 of an inch or less, well maybe at least). That's how I was thinking of it.
