Fallout mod.

No. We do not actually a full site for this mod. THe closest we have a a forum hosted on another site. The link of which you will find in the first page of this thread.(if you have not already)

(I wrote a stupid thing here earlyer which was intended as a joke but understood as a insult)

Wait, doesn't alpha centauri have many models and textures that we could use in this mod!... Just ashame that I don't have the freakin' game

No :crazyeye: Allowed

And also, im sorry flamescreen for flaming your work. Didn't see that you had been haning around here, and thought you just were a mod hungry hyena :p

Not because I say I ain't one :mischief:

What about using the hubologist ship as a wonder? Or a super mainframe computer, like the one the shi got...

Anyways I think that those micro batteries should be called Micro Fusion Cells (to mimic the game) It has more sound to it. And that freakin' statue of the vault dweller! Why? This is in 2080 (or something like that). The vault dweller descented about 100 years later in the game.

Also what about letting the enclave build their first town(s) on Sea. Their initial outpost is in FO2 quite much bigger than Navarro on the mainland. There would also be nice if you could mine uranium for fission (energy) use and also weapon use. The last thing is that it would be very nice if you could insert the G.E.C.K. somewhere in the game. That would really refresh the ol' fallout feeling.

I don't want to be a precky arse (smeeeg heeeeeeed) or whatever. But these things are just ideas and you don't need to take anything seriously.

No offense bub, but you come along and flame my team with crap that if you had tried any diplomacy with, would not have irritated me. When you flame my team, you flame me. What you need to do is READ the whole thread before starting your tripe here. As you would have seen that almost every single one of your 'suggestions' are already implemented. So before spouting off again i suggest you take the time and READ the thread, and as for your help, thanks, but no thanks. I don't need irritants like you on the team.

As for the buildings, I TOLD him to get any buildings he thought was fitting. Since he has contributed and you have not, his opinions are far more valid than yours.

Thor, It was my freakin' first post in this whole forum. You can't flame a unknowing person for trying to help the mod developers... All I wanted was to tag along with the team, which now seems quite impossible if you are going to continue with that attitude against me. Also as you probably can see I wrote "You don't need to take anything seriously" which actually means what it says.

So, anyways before I will dissapear into the void of the masses I just had one last question.

What about the music?

hans_af_claes said:

They are going to put some original fallout music in to that mod.

And, thor I think you should apologize. :( that was little rude...

Reddog said:
Thor I seem to be missing the walled cities (I thought I made them, guess not) anyway, ill make some new ones soon.
@ flamescreen, the terrain was heavily touched up and re-colored from the original civ3 terrain, I believe a combination of the burnt forests, toxic marshes and destroyed cities that the terrain will look wastelandish enough. I have made other custom terrains that more accurately resembled those from the fallout series but because of the limitations of civ3 (i.e. 256 colors and scale) I believe that this will be the final terrain set.

PS I agree with flamescreen's view on using multiple sources to create gfxs. Although some wont truely be falloutish, the result will be better as there will be more variety in styles and gfxs that will make this a great mod rather than having just a rusted tin shack for everything.

Yeah, I was thinking of something more yellowish, if it was possible. I see you're saying it isn't. That's ok. My main problem is with the yellow containers, mainly. Maybe it's just me. But you do an awesome work, is the truth.

Hey, Thor thanks for the vote of confidense. Truth is he's been rude with it, but he does have a point. I have been using stuff that isn't Fallout and some might alienate some of the fans. For this reason, I've made screens of FoT maps from the community(since I build them too slowly and can't show stuff I'll be using for my FoT maps) and will use some of them possibly.

Also possibly what other guys made with FO2. Till then, here's something I've made but haven't completed yesterday.
I'm assuming if a warehouse building has no uses in Civ3, maybe make it a granary type for the bots, or whatever. Also some test screens with it.

Btw, I like Reddog's early city styles. I might be converting some of it for buildings, so there's some coherence between them and cities, as would be logical, if that's ok. He's got a great looking warehouse(well it seems like one).

For artwork go check post 676, page 34...

Flamescreen, you were right also. Those of us who don't have the skills to help and really want this mod to get finished so we can enjoy it won't really care if you use othersources for inspiration. Especially if it speeds things up. By the way, Top middle of that last group looks best but they all look good.

Flame, i think the top row center looks the best. Also if you see a building you think would be fitting go ahead and use it. I don't care where it comes from. Yeah Reddog's buildings are good, so if you wish to try and use them for city buildings, be my guest. Yeah the warehouse would make a good 'granary' for the bots.

Flame, that is why i had stated in my post that if he had been more polite it would have been no biggie. Flame to be quite honest i am tired of the folks who claim to be FO fans, yet can't pull the blinders off to see that this mod is based on Fallout, it is NOT Fallout. As this mod encompasses more than just the little time slice we see in the RPG's.

@naziassbandit, nope.

@hans_af_claes, I don't care if it was your first, or your one millionth, if you flame for any reason expect to be hit back. Oh by the way yes you can flame somebody without knowing them, it is called being a troll. You demonstrated it yesterday.
Now to answer your question, I have extracted all the music from the original Fallout and converted it to civ 3 compatible mp3's. Also the SFX have been replaced by wav's of tin rattling in the wind and other suitable wasteland sounding wav's.

Now on a better note, i have found someone who will be doing models based on the FO bots for me. :) Here is his first 2 previews he sent me. :D

Hi ppl, im back from the void of the masses!

Thor, I understand that you maybe still are a little mad about what I wrote. I took a gamble and I lost. There is nothing more to say about that.

Anyways the models look pretty and so on, keep up the good work! :)

Also, how will the music system work in the mod. Will each civilization have a uniqe sound and playlist? Or will it be the same sound everyware... will A Kiss be with the mod? Its a good post-apoc song I think. Better than the first one (Maybe) from fallout1. It could maybe be a ending song after the game is over... No, froget it, I don't have any suggestions at all :p

Actually what i did was take the background music you hear in the Necropolis and the Vats, along with all locations, then made them compatible with civ 3's version of mp3's. Songs usually don't do very well, but you are welcome to try.

Suggestions are always listened to if not accompanied by flaming and calling my team members thieves.

Hmm, that was a different wariant of how you can copy the music from the game. I didn't even thaught that you could use computer stereo recorders to take the music from the game.

Anyways I used a .acm to .wav converter to just convert the music files to the right format. Here is a link were you can get it http://www.bootstrike.com/Torment/music.html
this one is specalized to convert the music files from games like fallout, planscape and IWD games alike.

Yours HaC :king: :crazyeye:

Ahhhhh! Thor my walled cities will be done by the end of the week but as life is there are other obstacles to overcome before I can begin work. Anyway, after the walled are cities done THE CITY GFXS WILL BE MOSTLY COMPLETE. I'll finsih up the ouposts/airfield/bunkers that I have promised (near completion is just need to edit their pallets for a better look in game). Anyway, enough rambling, what else do you guys need in the gfxs department?

@ Reddog, Can you texture 3d models? ;) Maybe if we could chat on Im sometime we could coordinate ideas a lil better.

@hans_af_claes, i already have it, but thank you anyway. Also the music has been finalised. :)

Sorry not right now, but yes I can texture 3d models to some extent.( I have textured old Counter Strike models as well as mapping and texturing using Hammer for Half-life.)

COOL! Would you be willing to take a stab at the models FTR is making for the mod? Once you get time of course. :)

Hello, One and all,

Finally got a few moments to post something.

Here's a suggestion for a new tech: Savage Empathy

This would allow some of the BeastLord type units.

P.S. I'm on a tight schedule these days with full time job/clinicals and Continuing education. But I still want to help with whatever I can on this mod. If I come up with ideas that have already been suggested "sorry" but I just don't have the time to sift through all the previous posts.
