Fallout mod.

I think I might have a quicker way for you to re-size the frames.... I assume that this SPR to Gif exports animated GIF files..... I'd just open them with Animation shop, select all frames and export them into PsP. Once there, I'd re-size them and save them all as BMP files in my unit render folders, run SBB, re-open in PsP, load a pallette and save as Flicster ready FLic.... It's still horribly time consuming, but it should save some time.

Yeah. Thats all you do. Takes quite a bit but it's quicker then making the unit with a 3d program.

Yeah, and I feel for you with people bugging you about your production times.... For the past year pretty much all I hear when I post a new FF unit or update in the thread is "Oh when's the mod coming out!?!?!!?!!11111one"

My answer still is, "A lot sooner if I could get some #$%!& help around here."

Yup. If only people would listen

Hikaro, I got SPR to GIF on No Mutants Allowed website. Let me look for the URL, and I will try and post a link for you by tomorrow.:)

Uh, I beg to differ.... Of course one needs to get really familliar with one's 3d program of choice, but it usually takes me about two weeks tops to build, animate and render a unit using Bryce..... Poser, on the other hand is a bit different. If you just have the basic program and the content that comes with it, you won't be doing too much... On the other hand, if you're like me and have about 10 GB of poser figures, props and misc on your comp, then you can whip up half a dozen units in a few hours, then all you have to do is animate and render....

I find C&P mindnumbinly dull compared to 3D, and that's mainly due to the fact that you're pretty much chained to your computer when C&P, whereas I can animate and start rendering projects on both my comps, then I can get up and go do something else while they're rendering away, then come back, change directions, start both renders and walk away again. Of course, if you want any kind of smoke, fire or spell effects for Poser units, you're going to have to find the desired effect and C&P into the attack (you just animate them gesturing or waving the gun around in the program, then add the lightning bolts or smoke after you rand the raw renders through SBB).

Anyways, I might see about helping out with this mod a bit, if I ever get any time away from the FF mod.

Hikaro, that would be great I sure could use your help. Especially if you would make some Fallout style airships.

About unit making, converting it from the sprites, My best was two full units in 10 hours, going from SPR to final unit and that includes all six flcs. :) And I know I am not that fast.

What got me about it was all the Friggin frames! :crazyeye:

Hikaro, here is the link to the Spr2Gif link I promised yesterday.:)

I hope you can find it as useful as I have.:D

wmm, thorgrimm, when i double click on the .exe, it flashes a dos screen for a split second then nothing. nothing at all. how in the name of Enlil do you work this darn thing?

edit: never mind. i figured it out. thanks :)

Enlil was the head god of the Persian religion. any other references are purely coincidental.. heh..

Thor, If you could post some pics of the airships, I'll see about doing them.... Just one thing, though: my policy is that all of my scratch-built units (i.e. I made the models and rendered them myself) are public release. If you have a problem with that, then speak now or forever hold your peace....

@Quinzy, the reason is it is a dos program, and will not run in a windows environment. ;)

@Quinzy, take the religion discussion somewhere else please.:)

@Hikaro, NP on the public release, and as for pics, there are none. But the general guideline should be something that looks like it was cobbled together with junk left over from a nuke war, junky and VERY rusty.:D

The Fallout models were done by someone else and he specified the units were not to be released until the mod came out, hence my protestations on them.:)

i got i working. i went "open with" using the sprite, rather than opening up the .exe itself.

and it's not my fault bout the Enlil thing, Danish asked. blame him :mischief:

So, what you're saying is that the old "Sci-Fi/FF Style Airship" (the very first unit I ever made) would probably be a good place to start? Good thing I have the original files still on my computer. I'll just have to see what I can do with 'em..... (I got some beautiful rusty textures that Pedrov found and posted in the steampunk mod thread).

@Hikaro, yup exactly. In fact I was going to use your airship with the props in the middle as the Brotherhood Airship.:D Sorry but I don't remember the name, I only know it now as the Brotherhood Airship.

Brainbot is finished...

Thor, I decided to mess around with the Airship a bit tonight while I was rendering a LH, and this is what I've come up with so far.... Is this what you had in mind, or does it need to be rustier:

Hikaro, that looks good, but is it possible for you to limit the civ color to the tails? That way you could apply a greasy, rusty texture to the engines. Show that those bad boys have been through a lot of abuse. :D

Hikaro, yeah that is great. Thanks dude.:D :goodjob:
